Project 365 2017 Week 47 Day 323 – 329  Roll on Spring, daylight and warmer days!

Sunday 19th November – Day 323

Project 365 2017 Week 47

We’d been invited to Marwell Zoo for the day to enjoy their Christmas Experience, which was really magical.  The sun came out as we spent time walking round the zoo and I got some wonderful shots of our day.  Everything was great until late in the day when my camera card errored and now I’ve lost everything except a few photos I caught on my phone.

I was so gutted and the more I thought about it the more upset I became.  It was a review trip so I felt bad that I wasn’t going to be able to portray the event as I’d wanted to, I’d got some really good animal shots but really it was the photos of Monkey that floored me.  This may be the last year that we have the full on magic of Christmas, he’d loved every moment of the event and I’d lost all those images of his little face full of wonder and delight.  It broke my heart a bit to be honest.  But Monkey had had a wonderful day and I tried to focus on that.

Monday 20th November – Day 324

Project 365 2017 Week 47

Dropped monkey off at school and then had a Facetime catch up with my youngest niece in New Zealand.  Technology can be amazing. Then I headed off to watch Monkey in his school swimming lesson and caught up with some jobs at home before going into school for the afternoon to listen to the kids read.

Beavers after school and it’s dark on the walk there at 6pm.  I hate this time of year.  When I picked him up he was full of smiles and handed me 4 badges that need sewing on his jumper.

Tuesday 21st November – Day 325

Project 365 2017 Week 47

All the Mum guilt as I told Monkey I couldn’t go to the Maths showcase they were doing in school in the morning.  I had some work I really had to get done.  He wasn’t happy when I left him but all was forgotten by school pick up time.  I normally go to everything, but sometimes other things have to take priority.  Looks like I need to get on top of the dusting at home too!

Thank god I did stay at home and crack on with work as after dinner when I sat down at the laptop to carry on, it stopped working.  Couldn’t get it to recognise the keyboard at all.  Tried a couple of ideas friends suggested but nothing.  Rang Daddy P at work to warn him he wouldn’t be able to work on it in the early hours.

Wednesday 22nd November – Day 326

Project 365 2017 Week 47

Hoped the laptop would have magically fixed itself overnight but it hadn’t, so I dropped it round to the local computer clinic so they could look at it.  Might be a few days before we get it back.  Not good news.

I decided to take myself off to Banbury and get some Christmas shopping done.  My eldest niece and her daughter met up with me in town for a catch up, which was lovely.  Just what I needed.

Thursday 23rd November – Day 327

Project 365 2017 Week 47

Back to college for me and having fallen out a little with my camera this week it was nice to start feeling the love again.  This week we are looking at black and white plant photography and got to do some practical work in class before trying different things out at home.  I bought some black and white mounting boards which work really well as backdrops.

When Monkey got home from school he complained that his back was really itching.  When I looked, his back, neck and one ear were all bright red and clearly something wasn’t right. Daddy P was called to get to a chemist and drop some Piriton home.  Monkey asked to sleep in my bed, he often ends up there, but this was the first time in his life he’d asked to start the night there.

Friday 24th November – Day 328

Project 365 2017 Week 47

My view first thing in the morning.  Monkey had slept well and the rash seemed to have subsided so I dosed him up with Piriton and sent him to school.

I met up with an old friend for a coffee, which is always lovely, grabbed some Elf things for next month’s activities and headed home.  I started to feel really faint and sick so headed to bed for a few hours before picking Monkey up from school.

An early night was in  order for me, but after Monkey had gone to bed his itchy back issue returned.  Grr. more Piriton and me scratching my head, I have no idea what causing this problem for him.

Saturday 25th November – Day 329

Project 365 2017 Week 47

We both felt better this morning, and had a quiet day at home planned.  Monkey’s homework was to decorate an envelope, write a joke and spend £1 on something to go inside, to hang in the class Advent Calendar.  So I found him an envelope and lots of Christmasy bits and away he went.  We walked to the local shop to buy some chocolate and he write not one, but two jokes to go with it.

Then it was on to a bit of pottery painting before lunch and qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.  I’ve not watched the last few races yet, which is unheard of, but wanted to see this one as it will be the last one of the year.

We caught up with Mum and Dad on Skype as I wasn’t up to it yesterday and now I’ve got to get sorted as I’m going out this evening with friends to see Flashdance featuring Joanne Clifton. Excited, muchly!

  1. So sorry to hear about you losing the photos. The envelope and pottery painting sounds like so much fun! And that pinecone photo is great. I hope you enjoy flash dance. #365

  2. Hope you enjoyed Flashdance, sounds like fun. Any idea what caused the the rash yet? Hope monkey is better now. What a bugger about the memory card, is it a new one or the same one as before? And I really hope you have the laptop fixed, hope you have a better week next week.

  3. Oh no! I am so sorry about the lost photos. How annoying and upsetting!
It sounds like your son is doing really well at Beavers….He has done so well!
The class Advent Calendar sounds lovely x

  4. So sorry to hear about your camera and laptop. Not a good week for technology! I’m sure you will have at least another year of Christmas magic with Monkey. I think all my kids still believed in Year 5 – possibly even Year 6 for my eldest without big brothers to spoil it for him!

  5. Ah Monkeys face is just so lovely seeing Santa and I hope you manage to squeeze the magic out for a couple more years to come. Technology really is amazing and I love keeping in touch with my friends abroad at the touch of a button.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
