The Woman in the Window – a book review #TheWomanintheWindow

I’ve got such a good book to share with you this morning.  In fact if you are looking for a thriller to keep you turning pages in anticipation then The Woman in the Window by A J Finn, is for you.  Published through Harper Collins on 25th January, I’ve really enjoyed this gripping first thriller from the author and I can totally understand how it went straight to number one in the New York Times bestseller list.

The Woman in the Window

The Woman in the Window has kept me up late into the night reading it.  It really is one of those ‘can’t put it down’ type of books and I loved it.

We meet Anna Fox, a woman living in New York who hasn’t felt able to leave her home in ten months.  Her life revolves around what she can see from her window.  We follow her over a three-week period as we discover more about her and her neighbours.

She once worked with children as a psychologist, but is now an agoraphobic, helping other sufferers on an online platform.  Anna is on medication but drinks heavily and plays out the lives of others from what she sees from the safety of her own home.

She becomes fascinated by the newest arrivals in the road, the Russell family, a husband and wife with their son Ethan.  As we learn about them, we also find out more about Anna and the husband and daughter who no longer live with her.  There are so many questions to be answered throughout The Woman in the Window and I really don’t want to reveal the plot of this book.

She hears a scream one night and we start to watch her world unfurl as she seeks the truth that no one will listen to.

Anna likes black and white movies and you certainly feel a hint of Hitchcock coming through in the plot of The Woman in the Window, suspense and drama are available in bucket loads and I really didn’t want to get to the end of this book.

It’s a really gripping read, one I’d thoroughly recommend, and you can read what others think on the rest of this blog tour.  I’ve also included my Amazon Affiliate link below – buy it!  You really will enjoy it, and let me know what you think afterwards.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

I'm a Mum with an 8 year old son. I had a busy life in Export Sales before my Monkey came along, but decided to become a stay at home Mum once he arrived. Now I enjoy writing my own family lifestyle and travel blog. sharing the adventures that we have as Monkey makes his journey through school. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
