Being of a certain age I only discovered Julia Donaldson when my son was born. Everyone around me raved about her and as soon as I bought one of her books for my little boy, I knew why. Her stories are enchanting, told in rhyme and so easy for youngsters to learn and enjoy. You might have spotted one of our favourite stories shown on BBC One over Christmas, and today sees the release of The Highway Rat DVD.
The Highway Rat DVD is a beautiful animated Entertainment One short film, which follows the wonderful Donaldson book perfectly.
If you’re not familiar with the story, The Highway Rat has a bit of a sweet tooth and he terrorizes the roads as he robs buns and biscuits from unsuspecting victims. Of course, he does come to a bit of a sticky end himself and learns the error of his ways in due course. It’s a much loved story here, and we’ve loved seeing it brought to life in 25 minute long, The Highway Rat DVD. The DVD also features an Artwork Gallery, live performances from author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler as well as Behind the Scenes footage.
The DVD is a must for any Julia Donaldson fan, and I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below for your reference.
