Back in the summer my son and I headed down to London to make the most of Kids Week in the West End. It was to be our first experience of Gangsta Granny, when we saw the theatre performance and we both loved it. We’ve since started reading the book and are big fans. So I just knew my 8 year old son would love to try piecing together the David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle we received recently.
The Paul Lamond Games puzzle is one of a series of David Walliams puzzles that are now available, aimed at children aged 7 years and over. The puzzle pieces are large enough for small hands to piece together but are a step on from the large floor puzzles my son has completed previously.
The David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle has a red border which will assist young puzzlers as they piece together this jigsaw. My son has grown up watching me completing puzzles, so he knows it’s always easiest to start with the edges first.
There are lots of points on interest within this puzzle, including some great Sir Quentin Blake illustrations and quotes from Walliams’s first book. If you’ve not read the book, cabbages are one of Gangsta’s Granny’s favourite things.
It was lovely to see my son concentrating so hard as he put the pieces of this puzzle together.
We relived favourite moments from the book and stage show and had a few giggles along the way.
The puzzle helps capture my son’s imagination, and he’s laughed at the idea that perhaps even his own Granny could be a jewel thief. I’m not sure that’s quite his Granny’s style, but you never know. The David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle certainly got a big thumbs up here and if it helps my reluctant independent reader, pick up a book, I’ll be forever thankful!
Priced at £12.00 this puzzle is a great idea for fans of David Walliams and a great way to get children interested in jigsaw puzzles too. They are such a good idea to get children focussed, work on hand eye coordination and problem solving skills. At the end of a busy day at school, my son finds them a great way to unwind too. We can both thoroughly recommend this puzzle and you can find other’s in the series on the Paul Lamond Games website.
