David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle

David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle – review and giveaway

Back in the summer my son and I headed down to London to make the most of Kids Week in the West End.  It was to be our first experience of Gangsta Granny, when we saw the theatre performance and we both loved it.  We’ve since started reading the book and are big fans.  So I just knew my 8 year old son would love to try piecing together the David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle we received recently.

David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle

The Paul Lamond Games puzzle is one of a series of David Walliams puzzles that are now available, aimed at children aged 7 years and over.  The puzzle pieces are large enough for small hands to piece together but are a step on from the large floor puzzles my son has completed previously.

The David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle has a red border which will assist young puzzlers as they piece together this jigsaw.  My son has grown up watching me completing puzzles, so he knows it’s always easiest to start with the edges first.

There are lots of points on interest within this puzzle, including some great Sir Quentin Blake illustrations and quotes from Walliams’s first book.  If you’ve not read the book, cabbages are one of Gangsta’s Granny’s favourite things.

It was lovely to see my son concentrating so hard as he put the pieces of this puzzle together.

We relived favourite moments from the book and stage show and had a few giggles along the way.

The puzzle helps capture my son’s imagination, and he’s laughed at the idea that perhaps even his own Granny could be a jewel thief.  I’m not sure that’s quite his Granny’s style, but you never know.  The David Walliams Gangsta Granny 250 piece puzzle certainly got a big thumbs up here and if it helps my reluctant independent reader, pick up a book, I’ll be forever thankful!

Priced at £12.00 this puzzle is a great idea for fans of David Walliams and a great way to get children interested in jigsaw puzzles too.  They are such a good idea to get children focussed, work on hand eye coordination and problem solving skills.  At the end of a busy day at school, my son finds them a great way to unwind too.  We can both thoroughly recommend this puzzle and you can find other’s in the series on the Paul Lamond Games website.

  1. I’ve not read any but last week during the snow days my 8 year old granddaughter was here and she read two of the gangsta Granny books and really enjoyed them – David Walliams is her favourite writer
    Jane Willis

  2. I don’t have a favourite yet as my daughter will not let me read them to her! Thinking that a jigsaw might help make her more interested!

  3. The worlds worst children 2 as its full of horrid children and laughable things. Its really well written too

  4. We like Billionaire Boy, because we’ve read it so much that my kids know it off by heart!

  5. I like them all … but Gangsta Granny is my favourite, because that’s what my grandson Oliver calls me x

  6. Gangsta Granny is my favorite, its such a lovely story and i cried my eyes out at the end. We are going to the stage show in May, I can’t wait!

  7. My son liked The Midnight Gang best – he says he enjoyed reading about each of the children and what they got up to, and the horrible Matron!

  8. The Boy In the Dress because it teaches children that they can be themselves and that’s fine.

  9. Grandpa’s Great Escape is my grandsons favourite because he says his grandpa is just like in the book

  10. I love worlds worst children, nice an easy to read a short story to my little boy before bed as he loves these stories

  11. The boy in the dress, I like the way it teaches children they we dont all have to be the same

  12. We’re reading bad dad at the moment and are both loving it. I even managed to persuade my son to go to bed half an hour early tonight on the promise of an extra couple of chapters!

  13. The children have just started on David’s books so am not sure if there is a favourite yet but they really enjoyed Awful Auntie.

  14. We love Awful Auntie because Stella is smart, resourceful and a good friend, Soot is sweet and Aunt Alberta is scary and hilarious all at the same time. It’s all about the great characters.

Sorry! I didn’t read the instructions correctly and put my comment rather than my name in the gleam widget. I hope you can match it up with this comment.

  15. Gangsta Granny. My daughter absolutely loves it, and finds it hilarious. I love that it gets her involved and happy to read. She is a reluctant reader unless it’s a story she really likes.

  16. Gangsta granny, was the first David Williams book we read and my daughter dressed up as her for world book day

  17. The Boy In the Dress . It’s brilliant and teaches children to be individual and unique. My grandson loves dressing up.

  18. My daughter loves the David Walliams books and Gangsta grannie is her fave followed by Awful auntie. She loves the characters and the funny plots

  19. My daughters favourite is midnight gang she just loves reading it says its funny she wants to read all of his books when she can but they have to wait as all his books go quickly at school.

  20. Ratburger because Sheila and her laziness remind me of a lady I know. I am not sure about the nose picking however she does make others spray her deodorant because she says she gets exhausted lifting her arms up. I kid you not, people like that do exist

  21. Mr Stink as it’s a fab story! Enjoyed reading it to my daughter and loved watching it on tv

  22. Haven’t read any of his books, as yet. Though would maybe be Mr Stink, as we do like dogs. Might read some his books soon.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
