Project 365 2018 Week 11 Day 70 – 76

Sunday 11th March – Day 70

Project 365 2018 Week 11

Mothers Day, I was told to be ready to leave home by 8am, of course that meant that two of were, just not the driver.  Anyway, we finally set off on a magical mystery tour and ended up at Beaulieu Motor Museum.  I know I like motor racing cars but I have to be honest, it wasn’t top of my list of places to visit for Mother’s Day but at least the OH had planned something.  We had the place pretty much to ourselves so Monkey had a great time.  He actually posed at a few points too, which is unheard of really.

After lunch we headed to Mottisfont, and arrived to a downpour.  Typical as it had been dry all day. Luckily I’d packed the car for all eventualities and we headed out into the grounds for an hour before driving home.

Monday 12th March – Day 71

Project 365 2018 Week 11

The weather forecast was rather ominous for Monkey’s school visit to a new school that will be opening on the Eco Town soon.  The kids were walking over for the day and thankfully they didn’t get too wet on either walk.  It also meant that I wouldn’t be needed in class in the afternoon.

I’d got some photography homework to try to get done using my flash gun, but it’s been driving me made, as you really need an assistant to help capture the shot.  It wasn’t going well.

Thankfully I got a text from Suzanne at Chickenruby to see if I would be free to meet her at Bicester Village as they were making a flying visit before she returns to Dubai later in the week.  Perfect, we’d had to cancel our catch up due to the snow, so I thought I wouldn’t see her on this trip.  I got to meet her husband and child 1 too.  It’s always nice to meet the people behind the photos!

When I walked Monkey to Cubs I suddenly realised how light it was.  That’s 6pm before the clocks go forward.  Happy days.

Tuesday 13th March – Day 72

Project 365 2018 Week 11

Meet the Food Ninja!  His words, not mine. If only he ate his dinners at lightning speed.

I caught up with blog admin and tried to get my homework done again, I’m really not feeling this term’s assignments which is a shame.  I did get to play with a light tent in class last week though, and think I might treat myself to one, well it is nearly my birthday after all 🙂

Wednesday 14th March – Day 73

Project 365 2018 Week 11

One of those days where nothing really interesting happened but I was left thinking of a friend who’s had so much bad news over the last year and I woke up to read of yet more!  She really does deserve a break from it all.

But on a happier note it was lovely to see the crocuses coming to life in the garden.  Makes me feel that Spring really is around the corner.  i picked up my college prints and they are all rubbish, feeling a bit deflated with the projects this term.

Thursday 15th March – Day 74

Project 365 2018 Week 11

I dropped my son off at school and headed off to college.  We all struggled with this week’s task accept T, who smashed it and passed his driving test this morning.  The was the lift we all needed.  We got to use studio lights for a portrait session and play with a light box.  I certainly left the class happier than when I walked in. I’m going to miss our group when the course finishes in July.

Friday 16th March – Day 75

Project 365 2018 Week 11

Our school have been running activities all week ahead of Sport Relief and today the children had the opportunity to dress up as their sporting hero or wear sports clothing.  As my son doesn’t ‘like’ sport generally, he doesn’t own any sportswear, but he does love his motor racing like his Mum.  He’s been asking me for a Ferrari top for so long, but they are a crazy amount of money when you consider how quickly he grows!  But I found one on eBay and won it for £1.50 which made his day.  Throw in one of my signed baseball caps and let me introduce you to Sebastian Vettel.  Result.

Saturday 17th March – Day 76

Project 365 2018 Week 11

It’s snowing, only lightly at the moment but where I’m supposed to be meeting my oldest friend tomorrow to celebrate our 50th birthdays already has an amber warning for this evening onwards.  We needed to make a decision before 12 today or we’d lose our money.  We decided to err on the side of caution so neither of us had to stress about the weather tomorrow, it would defeat the whole idea of a relaxing day together.  So I’ve changed our booking until May.  Fingers crossed the snow will have gone by then.

The change of plans has put a smile on my son’s face though as I can now go with him tomorrow to meet Cressida Cowell.

We’ve spent the morning getting to grips with some Geomag sets we’ve been sent for review.  He was soon coming up with his own design ideas.  We’re off to the school fayre for the afternoon, a bit of snow won’t stop my son hunting for an Easter Egg!
