Project 365 2018 Week 31 Days 210 – 216
Sunday 29th July – Day 210
We spent the day at Twycross Zoo on a review trip. What a difference in the weather. We needed our waterproofs and boots, made the best of it and the animals did come out to say hello. One of the goats in the farm took a particular liking to my son, or maybe his red coat!
My best friend lives 15 minutes away from the zoo, so we popped in for a cuppa and catch up before heading home in the afternoon.
Monday 30th July – Day 211
I went to work for a couple of hours in the morning and whilst I was away my son was busy recreating our day out at the zoo. Love him.
Tuesday 31st July – Day 212
My son is never very keen on visiting the cinema but he did want to watch the new Mamma Mia film. I’d been sent some complimentary tickets for our local cinema so I suggested we went to the 9.30am showing. I forgot about the wasted half hour watching the adverts that we could have missed, but there were only one other mum with her toddler in our showing. He loved it as much as I did, he’s a total ABBA fan.
In the afternoon we were out in the back garden with him building his railway out through the patio doors!
In the evening I made a start on the Christmas stocking cross stitch I’ve had for months, for my great-niece. Now it will be a race against time to finish it!
Wednesday 1st August – Day 213
We had a long-standing date arranged with our NCT group at Blenheim Palace. Getting the children together these days is a real challenge as they all go to different schools and clubs. But we managed it, the sun shone down and the kids played happily together. It was wonderful. My son even joined in on the group photo without even the slightest wobble which ended the day off nicely. I won’t share that here, but it’s a treasured memory of a lovely day.
Thursday 2nd August – Day 214
We decided to have a chilled out day at home. I’d bought my son a Bubble experiment set months ago with different coloured liquids, we thought we finally try out. It was very disappointing, my son was expecting yellow, red and green bubbles. He didn’t get them, but it did start a mammoth bubble blowing session so all ended well in the end.
We spent the rest of the day building Lego and enjoying the sunshine.
My NCT group were round in the evening for curry and a catch up which was a lovely way to end the day.
Friday 3rd August – Day 215
Work for me this morning, and I was thrown in at the deep end a bit, but I think I survived without messing too much up. I got home to find my civil engineer had been hard at work. The living room was pretty much toy free when I left this morning, now a new track layout goes around the living room, a station and bridge have been built and Monkey Railways is open for business.
Grey clouds are gathering but it’s very warm. Will it rain?
Saturday 4th August – Day 216
We had a quiet morning at home with the train track taking over the entire living room and also now stretching from my son’s bedroom through to my own. It’s a joy.
Daddy P actually finished work before 2pm, a whole 6 hours earlier than normal, so we headed to the Great Bucks Steam Fair. Unfortunately it wasn’t so great, or cheap so we weren’t there very long.
Went to collect some tickets from the station that have been organised for us for Monday but I need the card of the purchaser to be able to collect them. Just as well I tried to be organised then!
