As you all know we do love to get out in the fresh air and go on a bug hunt. We were recently sent a few fun accessories to help my son with his favourite activity and we’ve been exploring outdoors with Hape and their Nature Fun toy range.
We’ve been fans of Hape and their beautiful wooden toys since my son was tiny. Their products are always beautifully made from sustainable products and they use non-toxic glues and paints too. They have a strong ethos that play time is about having fun whilst learning and we couldn’t wait to try exploring outdoors with Hape.
The Hape Hide & Seek Periscope is aimed at children aged 3 years and over and is something totally different for my son.
My super sleuth decided that as well as being useful outdoors he could actually also use this periscope as a spy gadget too. The periscope comes with a carry strap and can actually be used either way round, which is rather useful.
It’s been used a lot in covert operations over the last few weeks, whether we’ve been at home or out and about.
The periscope is made from bamboo and is lightweight and very tactile, making it perfect for nature lovers and secret agents alike. It’s certainly got the thumbs up from my 8 year old son.
The Hape Nature Detective Set comes with a 4x magnifying glass and a whistle and again they are both made using bamboo and come with carry straps.
My son has always been a big fan of magnifying glasses and the one from this set has now found a permanent home in his backpack, so it’s always with us when we are on an adventure.
My son has made good use of his new magnifying glass when we were at Stowe Landscape Gardens earlier in the week and he wanted to get up close to some mushrooms. But he’s used it just as much in the back garden, as you only need to open the back door to begin a bug hunting adventure.
Now the idea of the whistle that comes with the Nature Detective Set is so that bug hunters can alert their friends to their finds. But of course in this household you just know what the whistle will really be used for don’t you? Yes, it’s not part of his train conductor adventurers. All aboard!
Exploring outdoors with Hape is lots of fun and we’re really impressed with these items from their Nature Fun range. I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate links below for your reference.
