Project 365 2018 Week 35 Days 238 – 244

Sunday 26th August – Day 238

Project 365 2018 Week 35

We had planned on going to London but the forecast was dismal so we postponed that trip and had a day at home.  It rained on and off all day and very heavily at times.  It did mean that the spitfire got its second coat of paint though.

Monday 27th August – Day 239

Project 365 2018 Week 35

Bank Holiday Monday.  Totally different weather today and perfect for a trip down to London Zoo.  We were there for a review and it was the first time I’d been there in a great many years.  We had a great day, walked our feet off and got to explore Regents Park on our walk to and from Marylebone Station too.

We came home with Geoff the Giraffe.  I’m seriously going to be looking at Giraffe adoption packages for his birthday.  He loves them so much.

Tuesday 28th August – Day 240

Project 365 2018 Week 35

We’d had a date in my diary for ages to visit Whipsnade Zoo today with Tesco days out vouchers but even I had to admit that two days of zoos together might be an overload and actually we were both really tired.  So we opted for a quiet day at home and it was much-needed.

Meet my Ninja son and his trusty sidekick.  Honestly, the delaying tactics that are used in this household at bedtime!

Wednesday 29th August – Day 241

Project 365 2018 Week 35

I had work in the morning and after lunch we decided we needed some fresh air. My son opted for Stowe Landscape Gardens so off we headed for a few hours.  He picked up a new map and worked out our route for the afternoon.

We got to see one of the lakes being dredged and saw renovation work being done on one of the temples.  It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

Thursday 30th August – Day 242

Project 365 2018 Week 35

I’d had a really bad night’s sleep, really hot flushes etc so was in need of a gentle start to the day.  We were meeting up with friends and my friend L asked if we could get together in the afternoon, perfect.

We spent the morning at home, my son had been sent a number of new Britains vehicles for review so he was more than happy to test those out, whilst I came too over a cup of tea.

He’d suggested we go to Stowe again with L and her son C in the afternoon, told you he loves the place.  They agreed, so we picked them up and headed off for another afternoon’s adventure.  The boys played tour guides and apart from a couple of tantrums from my son, we all had a lovely time.  Another cream tea may have been enjoyed before we headed home.

Friday 31st August – Day 243

Project 365 2018 Week 35

Work for me in the morning then after we’d had lunch we headed into town to do some jobs. It was lovely and sunny so my son decided he wanted to do some digging in his mud pit when we got home.  Don’t all kids run around in overalls, boots and a Viking helmet? he got these overalls as a present last December, size 9/10 and he’s telling me they are too tight when he’s digging.  He’s not even 9 yet!

Saturday 1st September – Day 244

Project 365 2018 Week 35

We woke up to discover that one of our neighbours are moving out, let’s hope the next lot have fewer cars and ones that don’t wake us up every morning.

A beautiful sunny day.  We’ve spent the morning at home pottering about.  I painted my nails, the varnish will be chipped by tonight, it never lasts with me, but I still like it.  My nails were destroyed with the old job, but are better now thankfully.

I’ve relented and agreed that on certain school days my son can have packed lunch rather than school lunches, as some of the choices just won’t get eaten.  Eat Well UK have sent us a lunch box and carry bag to try out so we decided to have a trial run at home.  He’s happy.

This afternoon we are off to my great nieces 1st birthday party.  It’s actually next weekend but she’s having a joint party with my niece’s godson.  All very different from the small family gathering we had for my son’s when he slept through most of it!

  1. The Giraffe adoption sounds like a great idea for a birthday present! Your boy does look happy with the giraffe.
hahaha! I love the overall and viking helmet look. It’s just fabulous!

  2. I don’t think school dinners can suit everybody every day but at least you have some days he likes.
Love the Ninja look and I think adopt a giraffe would be a good idea for him.
I agree walking round 2 zoos 2 days running would be too much

  3. As you know I’m not looking forward to our school lunches with the new company. Will have to wait and see. N won’t get another proper hot meal if he doesn’t have one at lunch, so unless it’s a heatwave, he’ll still be having school lunches. The OH bought N overalls at Christmas – but slightly got the sizing wrong and ended up ordering a size 12/13! God knows how long i’ll be until can wear them

  4. I used to make a pack lunch every day for each of my kids during the holidays to monitor what they were eating and save me preparing lunch all day. glad you enjoyed your trip to the zoo, I promise to take lots of giraffe photo’s for Monkey when I’m over in SA.

  5. The day off due to the bad weather was meant to be. The spitfire needed a second coating. 🙂 I haven’t been to the London Zoo in ages, we took there Sasha when he was little a couple of times, but Eddie hasn’t been there at all. Loving the viking helmet, it suits Monkey.
I remember those dreadful hot flushes, my commiserations; thankfully for me, it’s now done and dusted.

  6. It is so tough to judge the weather! I got soaked on Thursday, out without a coat because it said no rain in the forecast! #project365
