Project 365 2018 Week 40 Days 273 – 279 The week of feeling decidedly under the weather.
Sunday 30th September – Day 273
We’d been invited to the Cotswold Airport Revival Festival but my lunchtime I was feeling so cold we decided to leave. We were really close to Swindon so we decided to pop into STEAM so my son could revisit the museum we’d last been to when he was really small. It gave me a chance to try to warm up and him time to play trains.
It was clear though that I really wasn’t feeling well rather than just cold, so we headed home, and I went off to bed.
Monday 1st October – Day 274
The only photo I took all day. My son bought himself a Mallard mug yesterday with the proceeds of some toy sales. It’s for his milk now apparently.
I knew work were short-staffed so I went in, did what needed doing and came home to bed. Picked my son up from school and then got his Dad to do the Cubs run as they were meeting at our local fire station for the evening.
He had a great time and got to aim the water hose at the training tower. This is the boy who would go anywhere near the hose on his first visit with school a couple of years ago.
Tuesday 2nd October – Day 275
My son was going on a school trip to Warwick Castle. I was meant to be going as a parent helper, but I got a message later yesterday saying I wasn’t going to be needed. My son was disappointed, but to be honest, I was so relieved as I felt really rough. Dropped him at school and waited to wave him off on the coach, before heading home to the warm and a cuppa on the sofa. Not a productive day.
But my son had a great day and finally got to see the Trebuchet working! In all the years it’s been there, we’ve never seen it operating, so he was really happy.
Wednesday 3rd October – Day 276
Not sure if this one is coming down with something. He was very quiet after school and went straight to sleep at bedtime.
Thursday 4th October – Day 277
Thankfully I woke up feeling slightly more human. The duvet thief had got in with me during the night so I wasn’t sure how he’d be feeling this morning, but he was up and about as bright as a button. This morning he was pretending to be a knight and was defending the kitchen from invaders (me). I’m not quite sure how his sword isn’t in this shot.
A more productive day for me at last.
Friday 5th October – Day 278
My son was really anxious about going to school. In fact it took me a while to get him out of the door, and even then he stuffed Biff the worry eater into his backpack. He would be handing the Star of Week medal he’d won last week on to this week’s recipient in assembly and for some reason he was dreading it. His best friend and I tried to reassure him. He wasn’t convinced.
I made banana bread after work and hoped it would cheer my son up after school. It did and he’d got through assembly in one peace.
I had an assistant with my jigsaw, although I’m not sure he was actually that helpful!
Saturday 6th October – Day 279
With it pouring down outside we decided to have a home day. Caught up on a programme about walks on old railway lines that my son loves and then have spent most of the day playing with his Geomag Mechanics set we’ve been sent for review.
Glad you’re feeling better! Loving your jigsaw helper 🙂 A home day today sounds nice, we have two soccer matches to go to, in the cold!
There are times when I’m really happy my son doesn’t want to do sports!! Hope you didn’t freeze too much.
Sorry to hear you were unwell this week, I also had a couple of rotten days. Eddie’s class visited the Warwick castle two years ago, and I was a helper. Still shudder at too much responsibility of looking after silly children who were totally oblivious to any danger, jumping and pushing on the castle ramparts. There was one area, where a child could easily fall through the broken arrow slits. Brewster in a puzzle box made me chuckle, he is the king of the house, isn’t he?
We are having a home day today as well.
Yes I’m glad they’re a bit older on this trip
So sorry you haven’t been feeling well. I hope you are over it now!
I hope the school assembly went ok for your boy. Well done on getting star of the week. x
Thanks, he did ok and I’m back to normal now thankfully.
Glad you’re feeling better. That geomag stuff looks good. I need to get back into jigsaws again. Think I’ve got one half made in my puzzle case from ages ago!
Their sets are very good
Lovely photos, I love the cat in the box one, my cats are forever finding strange places to settle down! #Blogtober18
Typical Brewster
Glad you are feeling better, and phew at getting out of the school trip. Glad son enjoyed the day though.Well done to him on the cub trip as well.
Not done a jigsaw in years but looks like cat is scrutinising closely to see if he could fit any pieces….lol
Thanks, all went well in the end
Glad you’re feeling better. I don’t suppose Brewster was much help with the jigsaw.
Sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well, good to hear you’re feeling better now. Glad the assembly wasn’t too traumatic for your boy.
Glad you are feeling better now! We have been to Warwick Castle once and managed to see the Trebuchet working. It is pretty cool. Love your puzzle helper!
Thank you, it’s a great castle isn’t it
I would love to visit Warwick Castle and Steam. My son loves Mallard so the cup would be popular in our house! #project365
I can recommend both
