Project 365 2018 Week 41 Days 280 ā€“ 286

Sunday 7th October ā€“ Day 280

Project 365 2018 Week 41

We had no plans for the day, so I set my alarm and got to watch the Japanese Grand Prix bright and early.Ā  I did get busted by my son an hour into the race who was less than impressed that CBBC was off the agenda.Ā  But he was soon watching the race with me.Ā  A less than stunning result for Ferrari and i’m sure we’ve waved goodbye to any chance of winning the championship again.

What a difference a day makes weather wise.Ā  It poured down yesterday, today was a different story.Ā  I would have liked to pop out for a walk in the afternoon but my son was determined that his Dad was going to fix the old Mamod steam traction engine he’d been given so my son could watch it steaming.Ā  I left them to it, and just peeped out to take a look at their endeavours from time to time.Ā  They spend so little time together that my son loves moments like this.

Monday 8th October – Day 281

Real Talking Harry Potter Hat

Work passed by in a flash and then I got the weekly shopping done before picking my son up from school.

Cubs was back in the hall again tonight and I wasn’t sure how it would go.Ā  But I was ‘allowed’ to leave when Flag was called and he was full of smiles when I picked him up.Ā  I was less happy with this scene at 7.30pm, it’s got so dark.Ā  I am truly not an Autumn and Winter person.

Tuesday 9th October – Day 282

Project 365 2018 Week 41

I’d had a bad night’s sleep so the alarm going off was most unwelcome.Ā  There was no sign of life from my son by the time I’d got dressed so I popped into his room.Ā  He was still fast asleep.Ā  Instead of waking him up, I just sat on his bed for a minute or two, just watching him, fast asleep in the land of dreams.Ā  Life rushes by so fast, it was nice to just sit and enjoy the moment before the madness of the day began.

I even caught him reading his Peter’s Railway bookmark whilst he was having his bookmark. I’ll take reading in any form!

A chilly but sunny day, I was so tempted to close the laptop and take myself off somewhere instead.Ā  But work was calling.

Wednesday 10th October – Day 283

Project 365 2018 Week 41

Another day and another breakfast table shot.Ā  This one left his reading book at school yesterday and thought that meant he’d get away without reading to me this morning.Ā  Wrong! I told him to open his Peter’s Railway Activity Book and read that out to me instead.

It was a typical autumnal morning on the walk to school, quite nippy and a bit misty.Ā  I went to work with my winter coat on, came out two hours later to blues skies and a lovely warm afternoon.Ā  Changed my shoes for sandals, and ditched the coat for the walk to school in the afternoon.

I finished off the cross stitch work for my great niece’s Christmas stocking, now I just need to wash and press it before making the actual stocking up itself.

Thursday 11th October – Day 284

Project 365 2018 Week 41

My son made breakfast.Ā  This is extremely rare.Ā  Mine came without any milk on my Weetabix but it was the thought that counted.Ā  After he’d got dressed I was treated to a flying display before school.Ā  Lucky me.

I spent the day sorting out blog work and trying to get something to work.Ā  First attempt failed so something to walk away from and try again later.

Friday 12th October – Day 285

Project 365 2018 Week 41

A quiet morning at work before I headed off to meet up with most of my NCT group for lunch at The Milk Shed.Ā  It never disappoints and I’ve never managed to fit in one of their ice creams for pudding either.

My son came out of school with a lovely handwritten invitation to their open afternoon next week.Ā  His handwriting was really good, he can do it when he wants to.

Saturday 13th October – Day 286

Project 365 2018 Week 41 Sat

An early start for us as my son decided to wake me up at 5.25am and then not go back to sleep.Ā  We got his Maths homework done and had a lazy morning before his Dad picked him up to go to a model railway exhibition.

Suzanne from Chickenruby popped over for a catch up and after she’d something to eat we went over to Stowe for a walk around the gardens.Ā  The weather was lovely considering how windy it’s been.Ā  Once the menfolk were back we had a fish and chips supper before Suzanne headed back to Wales.

  1. It’s lovely to see Monkey and Dad having a time together, doing things that really matter. I also spotted the other down how dark it was at 7pm, eeek. How wonderful that you managed to meet up with Suzanne. The last photo could be just the setting for a Swan lake production.

  2. It’s so nice your son and his dad got to spend some time together. It sounds like a great project.
I don’t like the dark nights when I have to go out in them. I’d much rather be indoors all cosy.
    Lovely photos x

  3. Nive that he is spending sometime with his dad.
Chuckled at you watching the grand prix and him not getting CBBC. So not bringing jis reading book home did not work then.
It is getting dark far to early.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
