Project 365 2019 Week 11 Day 69 – 75

Sunday 10th March – Day 69

Project 365 2019 Week 11

I headed off to Gloucester bright and early to spend the day with Suzanne from Chickenruby before she heads back to Dubai again.  We drank coffee, chatted and walked around the city, getting rather windswept at times.  After lunch we also met up with Sarah from Mum of Three World, for more drinks and laughter.  It was the perfect tonic and just what I needed.

I did wonder what Suzanne was talking about when she asked to see a snow photo when I got home, and then half an hour later, I knew exactly what she meant!  We had all four seasons in one day.

My son and his Dad got home after me and they’d spent the day on the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway, so my son was full of his adventures.

Monday 11th March – Day 70

Project 365 2019 Week 11

A full of day at work for me as I worked 9-2 with lots going on.  From work I headed straight to my SIL’s house.  We’ve got family arriving from Canada on Wednesday and they will be staying with her.  But sod’s law, my BIL has hospital appointments in Oxford all afternoon that can’t be changed, so I’ll be picking our relatives up instead.  So we just needed to talk through the arrangements ahead of time.

My son seemed to have had a good day at school and was eager for Brewster cuddles when he got home.  Brewster was less so, nothing changes.  We had My Maths homework to tackle and it was clear my son hadn’t got a clue how to work it all out, and I could only really figure it out on a calculator.  Ridiculous.  So we submitted it with only a couple of questions answered and I will be sending him into school tomorrow with a note.  I want to see how they are being taught to work things out so I can help my son using the same method.  I just don’t see the point in online homework where no working out is shown/seen at all.  Pointless.

Tuesday 12th March – Day 71

Project 365 2019 Week 11

It’s so windy, wet and grey again.  Not really inspiring weather to take photos.  My uncle is in hospital for his cancer operation.  It’s going to be a long day.

Time to get my son’s haircut, last minute bits bought for his school trip next week and the car was was meant to be treated to a car wash, but it was shut.  Biff is going on the school residential next week so he got put in the washing machine for a bit of a clean.

Wednesday 13th March – Day 72

Project 365 2019 Week 11

Work, school pick up and time to collect our Canadian cousins.  We met one of them the year before last, and she’s bringing her Mum over on this trip for the first time.  Their train arrived shortly after school pick up and we got there a few minutes before they arrived.  Whilst my SIL and BIL were in Oxford for hospital appointments we took our relatives back to their house so they could unpack and unwind after their long flight.  I was so impressed with my son, he kept everyone entertained with games and his love of trains.  For a child who often won’t talk to people he doesn’t know, he was a star.

Our Canadian cousins came up trumps with a couple of map postcards for my collection and a map puzzle for me to complete.  Happy days.

It was a late night, he was tired and there were a few tears when he went to bed, about his forthcoming trip.  He ended up in my bed.  I wasn’t best pleased when his alarm clock went off at 1am, of course the only person to wake up was me.

Thursday 14th March – Day 73

Project 365 2019 Week 11

We’ve reviewed a couple of Timeline games in the past and my son really loves them.  He’d challenged our Canadian family to a couple of games yesterday and it was my turn to be grilled at breakfast this morning.  My son told me he wasn’t reading his school book as he was reading these cards instead.

A bit of blog work for me, although I’m really distracted at the moment so I’m not being very productive and my inspiration levels are at an all time low.  A friend popped over to offer some advice on my working posture.  I’m having problems with my shoulder, neck and arm and it’s definitely a nerve issue rather than muscular.  I really need a proper office set up at home, but it’s all money I don’t have.  Hopefully her suggestions will help in the short-term.

I was called aside by my son’s teacher after school as there had been an incident with him.  I was really shocked and upset.  He’d clearly been picking up on the tension at home and lashed out at one of his friends.  We had a long talk about his behaviour.  not the best way to end a day.

Friday 15th March – Day 74

Project 365 2019 Week 11

Exciting times at work as we’ve got new super speedy computers.  It’s the little things that are keeping me afloat at the moment!

I rang both my Uncle and Auntie to see how they are both doing.  My Uncle is in a nursing home after his cancer operation.  It all went better than we could have hoped for, so that’s a relief.  My Auntie’s convalescence seems to be going well too, and she was more positive than I’d heard her for a long time. Two chats that definitely lifted my spirits.

I was dreading going to school in case there had been another incident, but thankfully my son and his friend came out of school together, full of smiles.  Happy, phew!  We had a chat with his Mum and have been invited over tomorrow.

Then we had a big family gathering before our Canadian family move on to catch up with other relatives tomorrow.  My son has really taken to them and was glued to their side for most of the evening.  They couldn’t have known it, but we needed to buy him a luggage label for his school trip, he was over the moon to receive this present and it was on his case as soon as we got home.  We are school residential ready.

Saturday 16th March – Day 75

Project 365 2019 Week 11

i might have drunk a little too much wine when I’d got home last night, and didn’t feel too hot this morning.  No rescue remedy Coke in the house either.  We had a slow start to the day as a consequence, but my Lego builder was happy to add to his empire.

After lunch we headed over to his friend’s house for the afternoon.  The family is from Macedonia, so I got to learn more about their homeland whilst the boys played.  It was really nice to see them both smiling so much.

Homework headaches are alright, my Mom had them too until we realized the system of education was different for us so I dealt with it myself. I hope your Uncle gets well soon.
Sorry to hear about the incident involving your son. You handled it well; children need to know how to express themselves the right way and not hurt others. The Lego structure looks great!
