An overnight family stay with Aparthotel Adagio Brentford

An overnight family stay with Aparthotel Adagio Brentford – AD invited to review

disclosure:  we were offered a complimentary stay and breakfast in exchange for an honest review

With everything that’s been going on here recently we’ve all been in need of a bit of rest and relaxation and the opportunity to enjoy an overnight family stay with Aparthotel Adagio Brentford at the weekend was perfectly timed.  We’ve not experienced a stay in an aparthotel before so weren’t totally sure what to expect.  We loaded up the car and headed down to the outskirts of London to investigate.

The Aparthotel Adagio Brentford is situated next to the Great Western Road and we found the underground car park easily.  The relevant parking area is well signed and has a barrier entry/exit system, ensuring that your car is securely parked whilst you enjoy your break.  It’s also complimentary, which is a real bonus.

Check-in was very efficient and we were advised that breakfast would be available from 7 am over the weekend.  This was a bonus as I hadn’t expected this to be an option and we’d packed cereals to have breakfast in our room.  Much nicer to have a treat instead we decided.

There is a communal seating area for breakfast as well as an area to work or read a paper.  On a warmer day, we’d definitely have made us of the outside seating area too.  There is free WiFi within the hotel and you can also use their gym and laundry facilities if you so wish.  Handy for longer stays.  The front desk is also manned 24 hours a day if you have any queries.

Our apartment was on the top floor of the hotel with views out over the main road, we could see Wembley Stadium in the distance.  There’s no denying that the road is busy and I did have my reservations about the noise, but the sound insulation works really well and my son loved the enclosed balcony walkway which connected the main room and separate bedroom.

The apartment itself compromises the main living room with a fold-out sofa bed with a kitchen area, a separate bathroom with bath and over-bath shower and a double bedroom.

The kitchen area is well equipped and even things little washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and oven gloves are included.  We’re on a really tight budget at the moment so the idea of being able to cook our own evening meal and make a picnic lunch was a really appealing part of an overnight family stay with Aparthotel Adagio Brentford for us.  There is a coffee machine with pods, as well as both normal and herbal teabags and some milk pods in the fridge.

The living room part of the room includes a large dining table as well as the sofa bed which had been made up for us.  There’s also a large TV and access to the balcony area with another small seating area.  My son soon commandeered the table and made himself at home.

The double bedroom is along the corridor from the main living area and has access to the balcony, hanging space with hangers, TV, radio and a hairdryer.

As for the bathroom, there was a bath, overhead shower and separate hose shower head which is great with kids and for people like myself who don’t like to stand right under a fixed shower head.  There is also complimentary shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and handwash available.  Our bathroom had a faulty cabinet door, but as it wasn’t going to effect our stay in any way we didn’t mention it until we checked out.

There is also a large mirror in the hallway, my only issue really was that the plug socket isn’t close enough for me to able to dry my hair and see what I was doing.  That could have been better designed, but apart from that we had everything we needed and the apartment was roomy, bright and clean.

Check-in is from 3 pm, so once we’d unpacked we decided to explore a bit of the area around the hotel on foot and make our way down to the Thames.  It’s about a 10-minute walk down to Kew Bridge, so the hotel is perfectly placed for a visit to Kew Gardens and there are transport links to take you into the city.  The London Museum of Water and Steam and The Musical Museum are also less than a 10-minute walk away.  We also discovered Watermans Park which has a nice playground for children.  There were also a number of options if you wanted to eat out too.

An overnight family stay with Aparthotel Adagio Brentford meant that we’d decided to cook pizza for our dinner so we headed back to our apartment.

Each door out to the balcony features floor-to-ceiling blinds with safety cords and any concerns I had about my son sleeping went out of the window as he slept in until 8.15 am the next morning.  Never happens!  In fact, we didn’t hear any noise from any other residents and we all slept soundly.

I had brought everything for us to have breakfast in our apartment, but the lure of pastries was too much for my son so we headed down to see what was on offer.  There was a range of cereals, drinks and juices, as well as continental breakfast options as well as the choice of scrambled egg, baked beans and bacon.  So we were all well catered for, as were the other families staying there too.

Check-out is from 11 am and we’d made plans to head to Osterley Park, a National Trust property a few miles from the hotel.  So as that opened at 10 am we decided to check out early to make the most of the rest of the day.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending an overnight family stay with Aparthotel Adagio Brentford, and it was just what we needed to relax and recharge our batteries.  I can certainly see the concept working for families who are looking for a budget-friendly way to explore the city which offers flexibility for all the family.  Have you tried an aparthotel before?  Aparthotel Adiago also has aparthotels across Europe which I’d certainly consider for adventures further afield.
