Project 365 2019 Week 18-19

Project 365 2019 Week 18-19 Day 118 – 131

Sunday 28th April – Day 118

Project 365 2019 Week 18

We all slept well and after a cooked breakfast, we checked out of our apartment and headed off to Osterley Park.  It was beautiful and if it wasn’t for the constant noise from the M4 it would be one of my favourite NT places we’ve visited.

From there we popped into Greys Court to check out their wisteria before heading home and back to reality.  The break from it all had done us good.

Monday 29th April – Day 119

Project 365 2019 Week 18

Back to reality and back to struggling to sleep for me.  Too much going round in my head. I headed into work and my boss said I could work for as long as I like, so we agreed I’d pop home for an hour at lunchtime to get some paperwork sorted for my OH and then I’d work all day.  We have been so busy and it was just the perfect tonic for me.

The only downside was that by the time I got home and cooked dinner I’d totally forgotten that we were meant to get my son’s homework sorted out.

I’m also forgetting to take photos at the moment, but as I’m not sleeping very well I was sorting through some old photos to message copies to Mum’s friend’s daughter of us as kids.  I also got to reminisce about times spent with my Granny.  I still miss her even after all these years.  Clearly, I never was artistic!

Tuesday 30th April – Day 120

Project 365 2019 Week 18

Finally fell asleep sometime after 2am, and the alarm was going off before I knew it.  Once I’d got my son and his friend off to school it was time to get some blog work done and I’ve had a couple of small paying jobs come in for May which will definitely help at the moment.

I fancied fried eggs for lunch and sod’s law I broke 3 out of the 4 yokes.  The OH got the better end of the deal.

Homework to sort for my son and then I went out in the evening for a catch up with my friend.  Getting out of the house in the evenings is still such a novelty, trying to find the positives in amongst all the rubbish right now.

Wednesday 1st May – Day 121

Project 365 2019 Week 18

The normal school and work routine and the OH had a meeting which may prove interesting in the months ahead.
After dinner, we decided to try to find the houses that are shown in Grand Designs: The Street on Channel 4.  The series features a number of self build properties on Graven Hill, which is just outside Bicester.  We’d been for a drive around the building site over Easter and had no luck finding it, so tried again.  These particular houses are in a totally different area to the rest of the site, but we found them in the end.  These are the ones featured in episode one.  As with the rest of the site, our first impression was how small all the back gardens are, postage stamp size.  Modern living for you I guess.

Thursday 2nd May  Day 122

Project 365 2019 Week 18

Local elections day, so I popped into the polling station to cast my votes once I’d walked the boys to school.  I’ve always believed that voting is really important, but right now I’m rather disillusioned with the state of our political system.

Home to some blog work before dropping in the OH at the station so he could get to a meeting in Oxford.  I persuaded him that it was far cheaper to get the train than to drive and park in the city, especially as his meeting was close to the train station.

I’ve slept much better for the last couple of nights, but I’m not feeling great today, menopause and home stress are not a good mix.  Yesterday I was ok, so hopefully tomorrow I’ll feel brighter again.

Friday 3rd May – Day 123

Project 365 2019 Week 18-19

A busy day at work and school before the long weekend starts.

Saturday 4th May – Day 124

A first in a long time, I felt really poorly all day and stayed in bed, no photos taken!

Sunday 5th May – Day 125

Project 365 2019 Week 19

I made it from the bed to the sofa and sent the menfolk off to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre to make use of our annual pass.  Brewster kept me company and I think he rather enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Monday 6th May – Day 126

Project 365 2019 Week 19

Bank Holiday and I was feeling more human but still shattered so decided to have a day at home.  More Brewster spam for you as we all chilled out.

Something we thought was heading in the right direction appears to be far from it, one step forward and five back.  It’s never-ending.

Tuesday 7th May – Day 127

Project 365 2019 Week 19

Back to school for my son and a full day blogging for me.  Daddy P is working some distance from home so we decided he should use my car as his car eats diesel at an alarming rate.  I hate his car so I’ll be walking everywhere.

After school, I’d promised my son we could bake a cake.  He used to love baking and we don’t do it often enough together these days.  Apparently making to together really meant, spreading the jam on!  The results went down well.

Wednesday 8th May – Day 128

Project 365 2019 Week 19

It poured down this morning so I had slightly soggy legs by the time I got to work.  Sums life up right now!

We were really busy and I’m working school hours for the rest of the week.  My boss bought me this plant as a belated birthday present.  Let’s see how long it is before I kill it.

Thursday 9th May – Day 129

roject 365 2019 Week 19

I worked school hours and after dinner, we went to meet our kitten for the first time.  He looks very much like Brewster to me, and he’s adorable.  He comes home in two weeks.

My uncle had his follow up with the oncologist after his operation a couple of months ago.  The results aren’t as good as we’d have hoped for.  The beast isn’t beaten yet.

Friday 10th May – Day 130

Project 365 2019 Week 19

Daddy P finished work earlier than expected so he did the school pick up and I stayed on at work until 5pm, first time I’ve worked a full day since I went on maternity leave in October 2009!  I was shattered by the time they picked me up.

Yes this is the reality of my living room, yes, I would love to be able to see the carpet but I’d rather my son spent time with me than hiding away in his room – that will come soon enough.

Saturday 11th May – Day 131

Project 365 2019 Week 19

My son has a model railway in the garage and apparently, he wants to recreate our local train station on the track.  So he wanted to visit the station and take a load of photos.  I’m not sure how he thinks he’s going to build everything but that’s a discussion for another day. You don’t go through a ticket barrier at our station, so we could walk on both platforms, he got his shots and we waited for him to see both north and southbound train come in and depart.  I live the high life!

My SIL lives very close to the station so we popped in for a cuppa and a catch up before walking home again.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

A Mum with a 9 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.

  4. sorry to read things are still stressful with the home situation. Not good news on the Uncle
Totally agree on the toys in the living room, they do grow up too quick.
Nice your boss is being so flexible and that you are fitting in extra hours when you can, all money helps.

  5. Ah, Mary, it’s tough when you’re not getting enough sleep. Being sleep-deprived is a torture. Had to smile at your old photo, that outfit, lol, something my Mum would put on me. Baking together in our house also means mostly stirring and decorating. The kitten is so cute. Hope Brewster doesn’t feel jealous.

  6. Sorry to hear that things are still a bit stressful.

Oh no re the results for your uncle..sorry to hear the results weren’t what you wanted.

Hope you manage to get some proper sleep soon..lack of sleep is so hard.

  7. I am glad the second week was much better for you. It sounds like you have been working lots so no wonder you are tired. There are a lot of days when I don’t take photos so don’t give yourself a hard time. Your kitten looks adorable I can’t wait to see more pictures once you have it. Definitely looks like Brewster xx
