Daddy P is a child of 1966 and, like me, grew up in a world where you had to make up your own adventures, really use your imagination and technology wasn’t something that was even available. He’s been going on a trip down memory lane with my son recently as we’ve been taking Dad’s back in time with Action Man this Father’s Day.
My brother had an Action Man when we were kids, and he was also going on missions with my Sindy doll, mountaineering up the stairs or surfing over the rapids in the bath. Daddy P also has fond memories of his Action Man. It seemed like a lovely idea to rekindle those memories in time for Father’s Day, and I’ve loved listening to him telling our nine-year-old son about his childhood adventures.
We’ve received two of the Action Man Timeless Classic range which are just like the originals we remember from our own childhoods. My son has got to spend a lot of quality time with his Dad recently and it’s been lovely to see just how much he idolises him.
There are three different Action Man figures available in this series – Sailor, Soldier and Pilot which are available in single figure packs (SRP £14.99). We received the Sailor and Soldier toys.
The 30cm tall figures come in retro packaging, have Action Man dog tags, buzz cuts and come with removable clothing, caps and boots.
The two Action Man figures have already been ut to work here on tank maintenance missions.
It’s also possible to buy the three Action Man Deluxe Classic Sets (SRP £24.99) which have extra accessories for even more fun. The Action Man Deluxe Soldier comes in forest green camo and machine rifle at his side, the Sailor Deluxe Action Man comes in a classic sailor suit, with a white hat, walkie talkie, binoculars and duffle bag and the Deluxe Pilot is dressed in a blue with black flight helmet, sunglasses and backpack.
So if you’re looking for something a little different for Father’s Day this year, then maybe an Action Man figure might just be the perfect gift.

A Mum with a 9 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
