Kitten with ball

Project 365 2019 Week 21

Project 365 2019 Week 21 Day 139 – 145 and I make no apology for the cat heave nature of this post.  We’ve had an awful few months and we’ve had something to smile about this week, and for that I’m grateful.

Sunday 19th May – Day 139

Project 365 2019 Week 21

A spot of Lego building in the morning.  He doesn’t do small.

In the afternoon we made use of our resident’s annual pass and headed to Buckinghamshire Railway Centre to have a look at their Diesel Day event for a couple of hours.

Monday 20th May – Day 140

Project 365 2019 Week 21

A busy morning at work for me, followed by jobs at home.  I hadn’t stopped by the time Daddy P got home and then had to do some admin work to help him out.  I was shattered by the time I finally got to sit down.  Looks like I wasn’t the only one.

Tuesday 21st May – Day 141

Project 365 2019 Week 21

I thought I’d been doing ok for the last couple of days but my bestie messaged me with the details for her partner’s funeral and the reality of it all floored me again.

Now to figure out the logistics as the service and wake will be in North Yorkshire, there are a few options and I just want to do the best I can to support her on the day, so we’ll make a final decision nearer the time.

I got some blog work done but not as much as I should have.  The sun was out so I decided to potter about in the garden and admire the busy bees working hard instead.  Can you spot one of them?

Wednesday 22nd May – Day 142

Project 365 2019 Week 21

A busy morning at work for me, Daddy P had a meeting which finished earlier than expected so he picked me up when I finished.  Shopping done and a few cards purchased and it was time to pick my son up from school before I knew it.

There were lots of Brewster cuddles after school but no chance of my son going to sleep.  He was so excited to be bringing Paddington home tomorrow.

Thursday 23rd May – Day 143

Kitten with ball

European Election voting this morning, I’m still in denial that we are actually meant to be leaving the EU.  I don’t agree with it at all.

Blog work at home for me this morning and then the afternoon at school before we went to collect Paddington.  I think that cats/kittens are going to feature rather heavily here in the weeks to come.

Before we picked him up there was a parent afternoon at school and my son’s class sang the Nepalese national anthem to us, as part of their world learning topic for the term.  They did great.

Paddington coped really well with his first evening in his new home.  We let him explore the living room when Brewster went out for the night.  It’ll be a juggling act over the next few weeks with them both as we try to get them to live together harmoniously.

Friday 24th May – Day 144

boy and kitten

Last day of term and my last day at work until June!

Daddy P got up for work at 4.40am and that woke Paddington up.  He went back to sleep and then was up again at 6am, so so was I.  Good job he’s cute.  We introduced my son’s best friend to him before school and the boys headed off full of kitten chatter.  Paddington is staying in the kitchen when we’re out at the moment until he’s settled in fully.  So I was anxious to see him when I got back from work, he’d been fine but was happy to see me, no work done for me in the afternoon!

My son came out of school full of excitement.  Not only was it now half term, and he was looking forward to seeing Paddington but his tooth fell out at lunchtime.  Tooth Fairy time again.

Saturday 25th May – Day 145

kitten and Percy Trackmaster train

Paddington slept til 6.30am and only woke up then because he heard Daddy P get up.  We’re having a quiet day at home, Brewster is hiding under my son’s bed and Paddington is being introduced to the living room train set.

Daddy P is attempting to prune the hedge, the only other time I’ve let him do it for me, he cut through the cable.  Let’s hope he doesn’t repeat that!

  1. Paddington is so cute! I’m glad you’ve got something to put a smile on your face and take your mind off all the bad stuff for a while. It must be nice to think you don’t have to go back to work until June too. Enjoy half term! x

  2. Wow! That is an epic Lego creation.
Aww! Paddington is just adorable! I can’t wait to see him growing up. I hope him and Brewster get along.
Your boy looks so excited. What a day. The start of half term, the kitten and a visit from the tooth fairy. I hope she was generous.

  3. Welcome to Paddington! Hope he and Brewster get on well together. Nice to have a new furry friend to take your mind off everything else.

  4. Paddington is so cute. I do miss having a house cat, although living round here would be a nightmare with dogs, foxes and hunting territory I couldn’t cope with things being brought in as gifts like we used to have with our childhood cat

  5. you spam away with the cat and kitten pictures. They are very alike, are they the same kind of cat? Monkey looks very pleased to have the kitten. Paddington and the train set is very appropriate with the origins of the name Paddington.
That lego model is awesome, well done.

  6. Awww Paddington is adorable! Makes me want to get a kitten…although don’t think hubby would agree to it! He just about tolerates one cat!

  7. Cat on the track! My dad has a Hornby layout and has rigged up a special cat deterrent: she waits until he take it off and is on there is seconds! #project365

  8. Oh he looks so happy bringing Paddington home! I hope that Brewster is starting to get use to him. So glad you have something to focus on with everything you have bene through over the last couple of months. Hope half term has been kind to you all x
