Project 365 2019 Week 30-31 Day 202 – 215
Sunday 21st July – Day 202
We spent the day enjoying Formula Student at Silverstone, so obviously, my son wanted his photo taken with a front loader!
Monday 22nd July – Day 203
A normal day with work and school until it was obvious my son had hurt his wrist at school and not told anyone. Our doctor’s triage called me back and told us to go straight to A&E to get it checked out. Not a fun journey in rush hour. I was pretty sure it wasn’t broken and two and half hours later the x-rays said the same thing. Relief and a rather later dinner.
Tuesday 23rd July – Day 204
Cuddles before we started the day.
I had an interview for a work from home job covering maternity leave that I can work alongside my existing job. I know the lady I’d be working for so that helped with the interview nerves.
From there it was into town for a deep clean at the dentists. Four injections later my ordeal was over.
Wednesday 24th July – Day 205
The day started a little too early when my son couldn’t sleep and then the thunder and lightning began. At 1.30am we were sat up in my bed with the curtains open taking in the free show. The lightning was amazing.
We were a little shattered when the alarm went off to start the last day of Year Four. I went to work and had lots to do and just as I’d finished there I heard that I’d got the temporary role that will start in September. I’ll need to do some juggling and Daddy P and my son are going to have to start helping more around the house when I start the extra work in September.
My son came out of school full of smiles, talking about a wobbly tooth. One ice cream later and it was out!
Thursday 25th July – Day 206
What a scorcher of a day. We started it at work for a few hours before coming home to enjoy the sunshine. Even the cats needed to chill out with ice cubes in their water.
Friday 26th July – Day 207
We’d been invited to spend some time in Southampton, a city we’d not been to before. Thankfully it was a bit cooler today so we could really explore the city. We both really enjoyed our day and it ended with a quick catch up with my eldest nephew and his girlfriend which was lovely.
Saturday 27th July – Day 208
We were up early to make the most of our day at Paultons Park. There was lots of laughter and plenty of smiles. We were so lucky with the weather and it didn’t start raining until we’d almost reached Oxford on the way home.
Sunday 28th July – Day 209
A chilled out day at home was on the cards and my son got out his Gravitrax to play with. So glad we bought him this for his birthday last year.
Monday 29th July – Day 210
More kitten cuddles were in order before we headed into work for a couple of hours. After an early lunch, we went into town to watch the Horrible Histories film at the cinema. My son loved it, but I was slightly underwhelmed really.
Tuesday 30th July – Day 211
My son repaired the Lego tall ship he’d built last night, which Paddington had wrecked. The rain has come back so he spent the morning playing while I caught up with some blog work.
My niece and her boyfriend came over for the afternoon, we had lots of fun being told what to do by my son, playing games and working on a Lego challenge,
Wednesday 31st July – Day 212
We were at work in the morning and it was flat out. Then into town for a few bits, home for lunch and then we decided to pop over to the Bucks Railway Centre for an hour. Just as we were leaving home I noticed that our internet had stopped working, it’s change over day for providers so we would see how smoothly it would go later.
When we got home I thought I’d set everything up ready to go live later, but to my surprise, my phone picked up the new service straight away, so I popped the password in and bingo. Five minutes later everything was up and running. I’ve felt this last week as if our luck might be improving, looks like we’re heading in the right direction for a change!
Thursday 1st August – Day 213
We had a chilled out day at home and after my son watched a programme about HMS Belfast, he set to work to make his own Lego version.
Friday 2nd August – Day 214
We were at work this morning and my boss gave my son a Hot Wires set that her boys had grown out of. He’s spent all afternoon making different electronic circuits – you can see how chuffed he is with it.
Saturday 3rd August – Day 215
We were invited to spend the day at Countryfile Live again this year, but it’s the first time we’ve been able to attend on Saturday. We got to see all the presenters as usual and listened to two talks in the National Trust Theatre for the first time. I really enjoyed listening to Simon King, the wildlife cinematographer, fascinating. We arrived at opening time and left minutes before closing time, we’ll all sleep well tonight.
It looks like you’ve had some fab days out.
That Lego creations are fab! x
Thanks
Glad to hear F’s arm wasn’t broken but you were right to get it checked out. I admire his patience with the cat and his lego models. Well done on the extra work, hope the menfolk step up a gear
Me too
That’s good news about getting the temporary job. I’ve never managed to get my kids to help around the house! My husband is pretty good, but I still do the majority of the work. The Lego creations are amazing. It sounds like you both had a really good time in Southampton. I’m very impressed that your internet switched over so easily. We’ve been talking about changing ours as the price is getting ridiculous.
It was so much easier than I’d expected
Sounds like a busy 2 weeks. Well done on the job. Sounds like things are looking up, so lets hope there’s some better stuff on the horizon. Those lego builds are amazing. N prefers following instructions, although he makes his own things over at the farm, but they’re generally a little more ‘abstract’. Nice to catch you fleetingly the other day. Must try and get a catch up soon.
They were but we’ve been slapped in the face again
He always does great with his lego models and to make them from memory is brilliant.
Our lot are very bossy when playing as well at times.
Glad his wrist was ok, love the upside down book.
Relief your internet change over worked ok.
I’m amazed by his building tbh, it’s lovely to watch
The heatwave was so overwhelming but just like last year us going on holiday was the cue for rain! I’m relieved that your son hadn’t broken his wrist or arm. My eldest is desparate to see the Horrible Histories film but the reviews haven’t been great and it sounds very different to the series which he loves #project365
My son enjoyed it but I wasn’t really impressed
Sounds like a busy couple of weeks! Glad his wrist wasn’t broken.
Sounds like you had a lovely time in Southampton.
Paddington is so cute!
Thank you
What a wonderful collection of days out. Sounds like a busy couple of weeks and so glad he wrist wasn’t broken. x
Such a relief
