Project 365 2019 Week 32 Day 216 – 222

Sunday 4th August – Day 216

tree roots

We had a quiet morning after a busy day yesterday.  After lunch, I headed over to see my brother and his family.  My  SIL’s Dad passed away suddenly on Thursday and everyone is still in shock.

While I was there my OH set to work in our garden.  Our garden backs onto the main road which is sheltered by some trees on the other side of our boundary fence.  The trees are lovely for the birds but nearly 30 years after the estate was built the trees are just too big.  We’ve had tree roots coming up across our garden and the OH dug them out from the surface of our lawn.  They’d reached our patio so I’ve emailed pictures to the council as the trees are on their land, not ours.  They’ll need to do something I think.

Monday 5th August – Day 217

Project 365 2019 Week 32

We had work in the morning and decided to enjoy a chilled out afternoon.  My son got some Brewster cuddles before we headed out into the garden with Paddington on his lead.  I signed for some post for my OH which just took the wind out of my sails.  Every time I think we’re finally turning a corner, something else comes along to knock us over.  Throw in the fact I’ve missed my second period of the year and am feeling really rather rubbish, and the rest of the day was a write-off.

Tuesday 6th August – Day 218

Project 365 2019 Week 32

I’m not feeling great, overwhelmed with all the ‘stuff’ and hormonal as hell.  I had my hair cut in the morning, my son approved.

The weather seems to match my mood as the heavens opened for the afternoon.

Wednesday 7th August – Day 219

kitten

This little monkey is five months old today, it’s also my brother’s birthday.

We had work in the morning, which was manic and after lunch, my brother and his family and their dog popped over.  Paddington did not enjoy his first encounter with a dog since moving in with us!

Thursday 8th August – Day 220

Project 365 2019 Week 32

I needed to get out of the house, the sun was shining, so we headed over to Stowe for a couple of hours.  I was messing around with shutter speeds and managed to catch this branch mid drop.

After lunch, I had a really long catch up on the phone with my bestie which did us both good.  Then an email arrived for my OH which needed actioning so off to the post office we went to make sure something arrives in time.  I’m so fed up with all the stress in our lives right now.

Friday 9th August – Day 221

Project 365 2019 Week 32

Work in the morning and a mega hot flush day.  Could quite easily have gone to work in my bra and pants this morning, but I’m not sure that would have gone down well with anyone! Oh, the joys of hitting ‘that age’, We were meant to be heading over to Ascott House and Gardens for the first time. We’d been invited to their outdoor performance of Gangsta Granny but it had been cancelled due to the weather forecast.  We can’t make any of the alternative dates for the performances unfortunately but will be visiting the house and grounds with Daddy P one weekend in September.

Someone was glad to have his partner in crime home for the afternoon.

Saturday 10th August – Day 222

pile of lego

It’s been howling a gale all night and day so we decided to have a chilled out day at home.  It’s involved some documentary film watching and lots of Lego building.

  1. Good luck! I hope the council do something about trees and their roots.
So sorry you got some rubbish post. Sending love and hugs. I hope things are better soon.
I love Tuesday’s photo of you and your boy. So glad you are both smiling. x

  2. Sorry to hear you’ve had more bad news this week. Really hope things improve for you all soon. Paddington is looking really big now. You did a great job capturing the stick in mid-air in the photo!

  3. Love your selfie with Monkey, he looks very much like you. Those roots are pretty massive, hope the council will do something about it. Sorry to hear about the bereavement in your family. Paddington grows up so fast, he’s already a cat, not a kitten. Hope your health improves.

  4. Sorry to hear about the family’s loss.
Those roots are huge! I wonder how big the tree of those roots must be.
I love the haircut and your pic with your son. Happy belated birthday to Paddington and your brother!
I miss the Lego days.Gangsta Granny? That sounds interesting…….

  5. Sorry to hear that there is some stuff going on getting you down. I hope things improve soon.

Wow those are long roots…I hope the council do something about them

  6. Oh dear sorry about your SIL’s dad, and the other stuff going on in your life. You deserve a break. from it all.
Those roots are rather long and I hope they do something about then before it causes structural damage.
A lego day is a good day in your house with amazing things built.

  7. I hope you get the trees sorted, though i guess it won’t be an easy process. Crap to you feeling hormonal, glad you chose to wear clothes to work in the end. Sad to hear about your brothers FIL, I hope they still managed to have some birthday fun, despite the sad times

  8. Lovely photo of you and your son, the haircut really suits you. The weather has been totally crazy today, either lashing rain or brilliant sunshine, typical British summer! #project365
