Project 365 2019 Week 42-43 Day 280 – 294
Sunday 13th October – Day 280
I’d won tickets to the Great Electric Railway Show in Milton Keynes, so the menfolk headed off there and I cracked on with some work at home. It rained on and off all day and the cats decided my main role for the day was to open and close the patio door a million times.
Monday 14th October – Day 281
Plenty of Lego playing going on after school, a spyglass apparently. My son has earned enough from selling his unwanted toys to buy the Lego Hogwarts Express Train. Little did he know that I’d already bought it last week when it was on special offer.
Tuesday 15th October – Day 282
This morning my son woke up to discover his Lego train had arrived and I promised him that he could make it up after school. It took him two hours to complete and his concentration was full-on, he was very impressed with the result.
Wednesday 16th October – Day 283
A busy day of work and school. We had fun after school with a review set my son had been sent, it drives up walls as well as along floors. It would also go along the ceiling if all of ours weren’t artexed!
Thursday 17th October – Day 284
World Values Day at school and parents had been asked to send in letters that could be handed to the children during the day, explaining how much we value them. My son came home and produced the letter he’d written to us, not a dry eye in the house.
I finally bit the bullet and started the process to move my blog hosting. I have so little time to devote to the blog now, that the amount of downtime I’m getting is beyond a joke.
In the evening I headed out for a curry night with my NCT group at one of their houses. Lovely to catch up as always.
Friday 18th October – Day 285
The blog hasn’t transferred over as quickly as I’d hoped, not helped by the fact I’m clueless at this sort of thing. Looks like I’ll be taking an enforced break until it’s sorted out next week.
Cuddles with Paddington after school.
Saturday 19th October – Day 286
We did some jobs around the house in the morning and headed over to Brill in the afternoon for some fresh air.
Then we visited my SIL and BIL for an overdue catch-up.
Sunday 20th October – Day 287
The menfolk went to an engineering exhibition and I headed over to Bourton on the Water to spend the day catching up with Suzanne from Chickenruby before she flew back to Dubai. We’ve not seen each other for a while so there was lots of catching up to do.
Monday 21st October – Day 288
I was feeling really unwell and only last half hour at work in the morning before having to come home.
My blog is still in limbo so that’s not great either and this was the only photo I took all day. Paddington really is looking more and more like Brewster.
Tuesday 22nd October – Day 290
Feeling slightly more human today. My Jumbo Games prizes arrived from the giveaway they hosted at Blog On last month.
My son had his best friend over for a play date and tea after school. His mum walks him to school again now and my son has really missed their before school playtime.
Blog migrated but now have a few issues with it that I could do without, so still in limbo with work building up. Not ideal.
Wednesday 23rd October – Day 291
My son is learning about WWII at school and has topis homework for half term. We will not be doing homework in the holidays so we had a quick look at a few things after school today. I pulled out my Diary of Anne Frank from 1981, priced at 95p. It’s one of a few books I’ve kept from my childhood so it clearly made an impression on me back then. I also pulled out my family history files to show my son the information I had on my granddad’s ARP service.
Thursday 24th October – Day 292
We had a parents afternoon at school where we could see what the children have been learning this ha;f term. My son was really proud of his Anderson Shelter model and a propaganda poster he’d made. We also got to watch cheerleading (don’t ask) they’d been learning which involved them picking up my son’s best friend and holding him up in the air.
Friday 25th October – Day 293
My son had an inset day and I took the day off. We used some Tesco days out vouchers and headed over to Whipsnade Zoo for the day, meeting up with one of Dad’s cousins. It’s one of our favourite places and somewhere we’ve been visiting with her since my son was six months old. The weather forecast for typically British, so we wrapped up in our waterproofs and had a lovely day. All five tigers were happy to be photographed and the elephants were playing around right next to the train track as we sped past.
Saturday 26th October – Day 294
We were both tired after a long day out yesterday and I was rather impressed that my son let me have a lie-in. When his Dad finally gets dressed we need to get my son some new walking boots. We’d been given a secondhand pair for free which fit well but their waterproof days are long gone sadly.
The cats were both out all day yesterday and Brewster was not getting tricked into getting wet again all day today!
Blog still isn’t 100% correct, I had to ignore the issues for a few days as I wasn’t well, and the fix for one issue doesn’t seem to have worked which means my Jetpack isn’t working either. I’m not a tech person so I’m not happy and stressed. I just don’t have the time to deal with things I don’t understand.
