Project 365 2019 Week 49 Day 335 – 341

Sunday 1st December – Day 335

Christmas at Blenheim

We had a chilled out morning at home doing jobs, and then late afternoon we headed over to Blenheim Palace for their Christmas at Blenheim experience.  It was a nice way to start the month.

Monday 2nd December – Day 336

Project 365 2019 Week 49

With the news we’d received about my auntie over the weekend I knew I needed to support my uncle later in the week, so I asked my two bosses if I could take unpaid leave on Wednesday.  It’s the right thing to do.  The OH arranged to finish work early and my son’s best friend and his Mum are on standby if the OH is late.

It’s turned really cold over the weekend and was freezing this morning.

We’ve been working on a 3D puzzle that we received for review.  It’s really quite difficult and were both struggling to complete it.

Tuesday 3rd December – Day 337

yawning cat

A full workday for me and I finally finished the contacts project I’ve been working on.  Now to get everyone to provide an update.

Paddington was in the cat house in the evening as he tipped over a really tricky puzzle that we’ve been working on.  It went everywhere, back to the puzzle board.  This was him earlier in the day, but it rather summed up how knacked I’m feeling at the moment.

Wednesday 4th December – Day 338

Battersea Power Station

We had some festive musical accompaniment before school.

I then headed down to Kent on the train, although it makes it a long journey as you have to change in London, it seemed far less stressful than driving, especially with the fog we’re getting in Oxfordshire. The sun may have been shining as the train passed Battersea Power Station but it certainly wasn’t at the start and end of the day.

The day was a little daunting as I wasn’t sure exactly what we would be dealing with but being there for my Uncle, and representing Mum, as well as being a niece, it’s important.  More tests are needed, to confirm what the doctors believe, so although it wasn’t quite as nad as we’d feared today, I think it’s just prolonging the inevitable really.

Anyway, it was good to spend time with both my Uncle and Auntie, even if the circumstances are far from ideal.

I really could have done with the train not being packed out on the way home from Marylebone.  It was standing room only as the train before mine had been cancelled.  To say I was shattered by the time I got home would be an understatement.

Thursday 5th December – Day 339

Project 365 2019 Week 49

Cuddles before school are a daily requirement.  Paddington is far more willing to oblige than Brewster would be.

Managed to track down some number candles for a certain young man’s cake for next week but realising that I’m not organised for Christmas at all.  I’ve not written any cards, bought stamps or anything.  Normally everything is wrapped and posted by now.  I’ve also cocked up the school photos as normally get them in the cardboard frames as it’s easier for posting, but forgot about that when I ordered them this time – bugger!

Friday 6th December – Day 340

Project 365 2019 Week 49

My son loved Berry’s overnight antics where he and some friends played Pin the Nose on the Reindeer, and he wanted to try it for himself before school.  Anything to get out of practising his spellings.

Our work’s Christmas party and boy was it needed.  We’ve all had ‘stuff’ going on this year, but we’ve kept each other smiling.  MY SIL came round to sit with my son so I could go as the OH won’t be home til late as usual.

Saturday 7th December – Day 341

Project 365 2019 Week 49

All plans for the day were cancelled and we ended up having a pj day instead.  I wasn’t feeling at all well.  Not quite the start to the weekend I’d planned.  I’d also forgotten to do anything with Berry the Elf before I went to bed, thankfully my son didn’t seem to comment on his lack of antics!

  1. I love the look of that Harry Potter puzzle. Shame Paddington got his paws on the puzzle. Eek!
So sorry about your Aunt but it was good you could be there for your uncle.
I hope you are feeling better now x

  2. Glad you enjoyed your christmas party, did you wear the new dress in your profile picture? Wednesday sounds like you did the right thing, I know how hard it is all round being so far away, it doesn’t matter how far, just not being there. Twice now I’ve scrolled past Paddington yawning and twice I’ve yawned lol

  3. That sounds like a really tough week for you, but it’s good that you could be there for your uncle and auntie. Love the photo of Paddington yawning. I hope you are feeling a bit better now. x

  4. The puzzle looks interesting but sounds like it is pretty tough.

Love the pic of your son and the cat cuddling. Ours doesn’t really like being picked up at all and looks to escape as soon as you pick her up!

Lovely of you to be there for your Uncle and Aunt

  5. The puzzle looks tricky but good, and how frustrating that it was ruined by the cat. Monkey looks happy, cuddling his buddies. Glad you enjoyed the Christmas party. It must be tough to travel to be with your Uncle and Aunt, but it’s so kind of you to be there for them.

  6. Blenheim experience looks interesting! Its good to support and stay with your uncle. I guess the more complex the puzzle, the more thought provoking and interesting it is (apart from the cat ruining your hardwork). I used to play Pin The Nose soooo much on my birthdays when I was little. It was so much fun! Your son keeps himself busy well

  7. I was so disappointed no to go to the press event at Blenheim but couldn’t get there in time as it was on a week day after school 🙁 Sorry to hear of your worrying time with your family. I love puzzles but have never tried a 3d one #project365

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
