As you all know well, I do love a good jigsaw puzzle. They’re a great way to relax and unwind, and something I’ve encouraged my son to try too. When I was at the Blog On conference back in September I came across a range of 3D puzzles from Kidicraft that really caught my eye. Not something I’d tried before and I thought my son might enjoy them too. So we were thrilled to receive a couple of steam train themed jigsaws to try, and today I’m sharing the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express 3D jigsaw puzzle with you.
The Harry Potter Hogwarts Express 3D jigsaw puzzle is a 500 piece puzzle with a 3D effect that brings this iconic steam train to life. The puzzle is aimed at those aged six years and over, although I have to be honest, my just ten-year-old has struggled with this puzzle and needed assistance to put it together.
The pieces are, however, perfectly sized for young puzzle and Harry Potter fans to work with.
The 3D lenticular print technique that’s used in this jigsaw puzzle means that the image on each puzzle piece changes slightly depending on the angle you look at it. If you’re looking for a puzzle for all the family to work on together, and one that you won’t complete in five minutes flat, then this is for you.
It’s quite a dark puzzle, which adds to the difficulty when piecing it together, it’s definitely one of the most challenging puzzles I’ve worked on for quite some time. The pieces are well made and fit together well and the overall effect works well.
You really do feel that the steam locomotive is coming alive as you work on the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express 3D jigsaw puzzle.
Any fan of the Harry Potter books and films is going to love this jigsaw, as will puzzle fans. It offers a different look to a classic idea. We’re looking forward to trying the Watching puzzle from the Kidicraft Nostalgia range too shortly.
Priced at £16.99 the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express 3D jigsaw puzzle is available from retailers including Toymaster.
