Having fun with Bakugan – AD sent for review

disclosure:  we were sent the items mentioned for the purpose of review

When I came back from the Blog On blogging conference last year I had a Bakugan Bakuball in my goodie bag.  My son was very impressed with this little character that springs into life.  So to say he was over the moon when a certain delivery arrived just before Easter would be an understatement.  Ever since we’ve been having fun with Bakugan thanks to Spin Master UK.

We received a range of Bakugan items which have kept my son well entertained over the last few weeks. You can play a game by rolling the BakuBalls and seeing who can transform the most into Bakugan, and there’s also a card game you can play too.

As well as playing the games by ‘the rules‘ my son has been more than happy to create his own and thrash me at every opportunity!

We’ve not seen the Bakugan Battle Planet TV series but the show features the Bakugan Brawlers as they use their Bakugan to win the battle of good versus evil and hope over fear. The Bakugan battle arena provides players with their own opportunity to battle friends and see who holds the strongest Bakugan. The Bakugan battle arena comes with 1 exclusive Bakugan, 2 Bakucores, 1 ability card and 1 character card.

Two players can play with a maximum of three Bakuballs.  You take turns to place your Bakucores symbol side up on the battle arena board and the see who can win the battle.

Having fun with Bakugan and the various characters which you can collect has been a big hit here. The Bakugan Core packets come with 100 characters to collect in series 1 so you can see which ones you want to add to your collection.  The set comes with 1 Bakugan, 2 Bakucores and 1 Character card.

The Bakugan starter pack comes with two Bakugan, one Bakugan Ultra, 6 Bakucores, 3 ability cards and 3 character cards.

The Bakugan Bakuballs come in a range of colours with each one representing a different faction – Aquos, Pyrus, Ventus, Darkus, Haos, Aurelus and Diamond The blue Aquos faction is the faction of focus and precision.  The red are from the Pyrus faction which is the faction of aggression. The green Bakugan are from the Ventus faction which is the faction of natural growth and decay.  The purple and black Bakugan are from the Darkus faction, the faction of power and greed. Whilst the white and blue Bakugan are from the Haos faction, the faction of momentum and control. The gold Bakugan are from the Aurelus faction.

Which Bakugan would you choose for your Bakugan Brawl?

Having fun with Bakugan

To play the main game you each choose a Bakugan to roll, you then all say “Bakugan Brawl!” as you roll your Bakugan towards the BakuCore Field. If only one Bakugan opens, that player turns over their Character card and is declared the winner. If both players’ Bakugan open, they will each turn over their Character cards. Players combine the B-Power score from each Character card with the B-Power score from any BakuCore that was picked up. The highest B-Power wins the Brawl. The loser must close their Bakugan, while the winner’s remains open.

Players continue selecting and rolling their Bakugan until one player has all three of their Bakugan open after winning a Brawl. This player is declared the winner of the game!
