Project 366 2020 Week 23 Day 152 – 158 Another week of lockdown, back to school at home for my son and the week the OH lost his job.
Sunday 31st May – Day 152
We had some chill-out time in the morning and I had a long catch up call with my best friend. It’s a year ago today since her partner’s funeral. In the afternoon we headed out for another local walk, getting to see a glimpse of how the other half lives as you pass the Tusmore Estate, home to a Syrian businessman. Should have taken my DSLR out with me.
Monday 1st June – Day 153
My son should have had an inset day today, and I’d got the day off so we set off to explore Bernwood Forest for the first time. My sat-nav sent us on a magical mystery tour but we got there eventually and had the place pretty much to ourselves, it was a lovely way to spend a few hours. The sat-nav sent us home on a really random route and in a totally different direction to add to the fun.
Tuesday 2nd June – Day 154
Back to school and home and work and a busy time for me playing catch up with both jobs.
I’d arranged a treat delivery for us in the morning from a local coffee shop who are currently operating a delivery service with barista coffee made on your doorstep. It was a nice way to ease us back into the new normal.
The lower tier of our paddling pool has a puncture, we emptied the pool to try to figure out where it was and got nowhere, A one-tier paddling pool will just have to do considering the price for a new one has doubled!!!
Wednesday 3rd June – Day 155
Not much schoolwork is getting done and I’ve been busy with my work so I’ve had to leave my son to his own devices a bit. He’d got the track out we reviewed for Wilko years ago – still going strong and we spent the afternoon racing each other.
Thursday 4th June – Day 156
Love the way Brewster sleeps. It’s been colder the last couple of days and both cats have been sleeping indoors a lot more.
I’ve been really anxious all week as it’s looking like my first job wants me back in the office soon. Not slept much worrying about it all and then just to add to the drama of everyday life, the OH got laid off with one month’s pay today. Another sleepless night then!
Friday 5th June – Day 157
A mixed bag day weatherwise. We were going to have social distance meet up in the park with my son’s best friend, his mum and brother after I finished work but decided we’d be better off rescheduling for next week. It had been really windy and cold.
But later in the day the weather typically picked up again and I headed off for a social distanced walk with two of my NCT group for a little bit of normality. The first time I’ve seen either of them in the flesh for a good few months now.
Saturday 6th June – Day 158
It’s so much colder today, I’m back in a jumper. We’re hoping to go on a railway walk today if we can ever get the OH ready and out the door.
In the meantime my son captured a moth in the bathroom, it was a little too small for me to photograph properly as he’d wanted Gramps to identify it for him. Still a little bug man really.
What have you been up to this week?
