Project 366 2020 Week 30 Day 201 – 207 Another week of getting used to the new normal, the end of the school year, another viaduct adventure and time spent in the rain with my oldest friend.
Sunday 19th July – Day 201
We headed into Northamptonshire for another viaduct walk adventure, this time to the village of Catesby. We had the walk to ourselves except for meeting the farmer and his dogs. It was so peaceful and a lovely 6.7km walk.
We watch a lot of railway/canal themed documentaries and had seen a programme about the old Ordnance Dept at Weedon Bec recently. As we were close by, we decided to see if we could find it on our way home. It was an interesting detour.
Monday 20th July – Day 202
I’m back in the office for a couple of hours three days a week again now from today. Very apprehensive about the whole situation but got to focus on the fun I can have with my son once work is done.
Tuesday 21st July – Day 203
The end of Year Five without even being at school for over four months. We thought we’d still capture the moment anyway and then discovered that his school shorts from last year were way too small and even his school shoes are now at least a size too small. He’s grown a lot since March!
Wednesday 22nd July – Day 204
The OH was around this morning so my son stayed at home with him whilst I went into work. When I got back he’d made a massive Lego aeroplane, complete with cargo hold and with socially distanced passengers. In the afternoon he went on to make a whole passenger terminal too.
Thursday 23rd July – Day 205
The beginning of the end of my second job. My contract runs out at the end of the month and I needed to start handing things over. I shall be sad to say goodbye.
In the afternoon we went to see my brother and his family as my niece was home and he was on holiday. We haven’t seen my niece and her partner for quite a while now. It was nice to spend time in the garden with them all, catching up on news and just chilling out a bit.
I’ve actually had a bit more time to read books I haven’t been sent for review. I’ve had a big pile by my bed for ages and having read I Let You Go by Claire Mackintosh recently, I had to buy another one of her books as I’d enjoyed this so much. So I’m now reading Let Me Lie, and so far, so good.
Friday 24th July – Day 206
By lunchtime, my head was fit to explode and as soon as work was done for the day we headed over to Stowe for a few hours to unwind and enjoy time together.
Saturday 25th July – Day 207
I headed down to Westonbirt Arboretum to spend a childfree day with my oldest friend. We were both really in need of a good chat without any distractions. The weather was interesting at times, but donned in full waterproofs we got through the worst of it. Socially distancing measures are in place, it’s well organised and buying tickets in advance is really easy to do. Can recommend.
When I got him I discovered that the rash I’d started getting last summer when I wear socks has returned. Joy!
What have you been up to this week?
You always seem to go on the best walks. What a gorgeous view.
I hope everything has gone OK with the return to the office.
Your son is amazing at building with Lego. That plane is fantastic. x
We live in a wonderful part of the country
Hope work is going okay its a struggle with the kids still at home. Looks like you have managed to have some fun afternoons. Love the lego model and you can not beat catching up with friends face to face.
With the main hours contract ending at the end of July the juggling is now easier, as long as I don’t look at the bank accounts!
