Monkey and I have been having fun over the last few weeks. We’ve been planning ahead with Spring and Mothers Day Crafts from Baker Ross.
Spring and Mothers Day Crafts from Baker Ross include Bird Suncatcher Windchimes, 3D Wooden Rabbits, Easter Bunny House Kits, Easter Puppet Kits and Mothers Day Handprint Decoration kits. We’ve had a great time.
First up for our craft activity time were the Easter Bunny House Kits, we received the pack of 2 and 10 kits for £3.49.
The kits are made from foam and come with instructions and are aimed at children aged 5 years and over, perfect for my 5 year old Monkey.
He was soon busy pressing out the relevant pieces.
Then onto the construction of the Bunny House, which started out well.
We did find it really tricky to attach both the front and back to this kit, we’d get the front side slotted in ok, and then try to slot the back in and it would all go horribly wrong. Even Mummy couldn’t get it to stay together perfectly, but it was good enough for Monkey to continue with his decoration.
He sat for age adding all of the self adhesive windows, doors, fences and flowers to the house, along with a Bunny and Chick.
The colours in this kit are really lovely, and Monkey thoroughly enjoyed this activity, I just wonder if the assembly of the house itself could be improved a little.
Next up was the Easter Puppet Kit, we received the 4 pack set for £3.96.
Monkey decided to make the Chick Puppet, the foam pieces are self adhesive, but you will need some glue for the eyes. This is really quick craft activity which kids will love – instant results! Attach the chicks head to the stick, decorate the cup and you have a pop up chick all ready for some fun at Easter.
We had a great time on Tuesday painting our Bird Suncatcher Windchimes. We received the 3 pack kit which sells for £2.96.
We didn’t have any glass pens/paint to hand so we used Porcelain and Candle painting pens (also available from Baker Ross) to see if they would work.
This is another great activity, the wind chimes only need painting and once dried they are all ready to hang up. Monkey really enjoyed painting his wind chimes and was really pleased with the results.
Then we were on to the Mothers Day Handprint Decoration kits. Monkey decided that he wanted to make this for Granny rather than me, which kind of made sense as it wouldn’t be a surprise.
The kit comes in a pack of 4 for £3.49 and includes a little poem.
You will need a pen to draw the outline of your child’s hand and some glue to attach the foam flower-pot to the foam hand. The other foam pieces are self adhesive.
I drew round Monkey’s hand and cut the shape out for him, then it was over to him for some floral decoration, once he’d strung the ribbon through one of the fingers (hole is pre-cut for you).
Once he’d finished his decorations, he wrote his name on the flower-pot and glued it in place.
Monkey then realised he’d forgotten to add the leaves to his flowers, so a little more sticking and his Mothers Day decoration is ready for Granny.
Keep an eye out on Instagram for our 3D Wooden Bunnies as we’ll be decorating them soon.
So if you’re looking for some great Easter, Spring and Mothers Day activities it’s worth having a look at the range of kits available from Baker Ross!

Over 40 and a Mum to One
A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
Oh he’s so good at crafts, he looks so into it x
He really enjoys crafting these days, and concentrates – you can see the school influence coming through.
