I can’t believe we are nearly half way through February already – eek! Have you got some plans for entertaining the kids during half term?
We’ve got a busy week planned spending a few days with family friends in different parts of the country. But we also plan on making use of our English Heritage membership and will be visiting Kenilworth Castle with friends for the day.
We like visiting museums as they are often free to enter and have a range of activities for children. We visited the Oxford University Museum of Natural History last year during a school holiday, which was brilliant, with lots of dinosaur activities and all free.
This year we’re off to the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock with some NCT buddies. We’ll be carrying on the dinosaur theme when we get to meet their life-size Megalosaurus. Again – all free.
If you’re looking for inspiration then Attractiontix asked a number of us bloggers for their top tips for entertaining the kids during half term. You’ll find some great ideas there, including mine – how about going on a nature trail …….
…… or maybe visit your nearest Forestry Commission site and go in search of the Gruffalo’s child. Monkey and I have been on the Stickman Trail ……
and Gruffalo trail at Wendover Woods before and enjoyed both. There are sites all over the country, parking is cheap and they are great places for kids to explore, we love going on bug hunts while we are there!
We’ll probably have some time at home too, we have some Easter Crafts to finish off.
How will you be entertaining the kids this half term?
