Mummy and Me - April 2020

Mummy and Me – April 2020

Mummy and Me – April 2020

Another year where I try to get out from behind my camera and capture moments with my son.  A challenging month for everyone as we deal with Coronavirus.  A full month of no non-essential travel and only an hour a day where we can leave the house to exercise.

Week 14

Mummy and Me - April 2020

We could finally leave the house after self-isolation if only to just go for a walk.  It was bliss whatever the weather. It’s been a struggle juggling work and schooling and we haven’t got the balance right a lot of the time.  There have been moments when we really could have done with being apart, but we always ended the day with hugs and kisses.

Week 15

Mummy and Me - April 2020

The first week of the school holidays and I’d promised my son that he could leave school work alone for two whole weeks.  It also made it easier for me to work.  The weather was lovely most of the time and life just felt easier all round.

The week ended with my birthday.  The weather was glorious, just like a mid-summer day, so we spent most of it in the garden, bliss.

Week 16

Mummy and Me - April 2020

The second week of the school holidays and a really chilled out one by all accounts.  There were days where my son didn’t get dressed til the afternoon and days where he really didn’t do much at all.  But I figured he’s got so much to try to process right now, that actually he needs time to just be.

Week 17

Mummy and Me - April 2020

I hurt my back on Sunday so my son is helping me a lot with jobs this week.  We’ve also made the decision to take a more relaxed approach to school at home.  It’s definitely made for a happier home.

Week 18

Mummy and Me - April 2020

We’re nearly at the end of April and we’ve spent the whole month together 24/7.  I’d be lying if I’d said it had all been sweetness and light.  We’ve screamed at each other, we’ve cried, but we’ve laughed and smiled too.  It’s been a month unlike any other we’ve ever known.  Who knows when we will get back to ‘normal’.  Reminding ourselves that we’ve had good times as well as bad will be key to getting through the weeks ahead.

Take care and I hope you’ve been taking this opportunity to get in front of the camera with your kids this month too.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
