Mummy and Me – April 2021
April and another month where I try to get out from behind my camera and capture moments with my son. The month where we started to venture further than our doorstep, but still stayed fairly local.
Week 13
Easter Sunday, lovely weather and our first visit to Stowe in 2021. We’ve missed this place so much. It was so wonderful to have a bit of normality back in our lives.
Week 14
I’m working most of the Easter holidays but on my day off we headed to Kirtlington Quarry first thing in the morning to go for a walk before it got busy.
Considering we’d been up all night on the Friday/Saturday for my niece’s wedding in New Zealand we still managed a walk on Sunday. We explored the area around Barton Abbey and it was a really lovely walk.
Week 15
My 53rd birthday. How the hell did that happen? Shops were allowed to reopen today, as well as eateries offering outside seating. I was in no rush to be surrounded by people so we headed to Stowe and had lunch there after our walk instead.
On Wednesday I’d booked tickets to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre for my son and afterwards, we headed into Quainton village to have a look at the windmill and explore a footpath there for future family adventures.
Week 16
Our first virtual parent’s evening and my son had really good feedback from his teacher. I can’t ask for more really. Well, I could ask for him to read, but that seems an impossibility!
The weather was lovely at the weekend so we managed to get out for a few adventures and saw two windmills on one day, both locally to us.
Have you captured moments with your children this month?

Over 40 and a Mum to One
A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
