Project 365 2018 Week 14 Day 91 – 97

Sunday 1st April – Day 91

Project 365 2018 Week 14

We’d been invited to the official opening of World of Dinosaurs at Paradise Wildlife Park last weekend but had been away.  Today we got the chance to visit the park for the first time.  My son was in Dinosaur heaven whilst I could happily have stayed with the big cats all day, they were stunning.

On our way home we popped into nearby National Trust property, Shaw’s Corner for a quick look round before heading home.

Monday 2nd April – Day 92

Project 365 2018 Week 14

Easter Monday and the delayed Easter Bunny came to visit.  She left a trail of eggs throughout the house as the weather wasn’t playing ball.

We popped over to see my brother and family in the afternoon ahead of my nephew’s 16th birthday tomorrow.

Tuesday 3rd April – Day 93

Project 365 2018 Week 14

My son and I headed down to London on the 7.11am train for a day to remember.  We started off with The View from the Shard which was amazing, blogging does bring us some wonderful experiences.

We then headed to Kensington, and the Design Museum to visit the Ferrari – Under the Skin exhibition that’s running until 15th April.  I might have bought myself a birthday present while we were there.  Sadly not of the four-wheeled variety!

My son wanted to see what had replaced Dippy at the National History Museum but the queues were insane and the weather was turning for the worst.  We were both really tired so decided to head home via Paddington Station.  My GWR and Brunel fan was in heaven again and we got to see the great Bear too.  All in all we had had a wonderful day.

Wednesday 4th April – Day 94

Project 365 2018 Week 14

We’d been invited to spend a family day out with Stagecoach Oxfordshire and headed into Oxford for the day.  The rain finally caught up with us and we dodged showers and downpours all day.  But we visited the Oxford Botanic Gardens for the first time, had a lovely lunch and went up inside a church tower to enjoy views across the city.  There was a Gromit trail to complete in the Westgate and of course, we visited Gramps’s bugs in the National History Museum.

Thursday 5th April – Day 95

Project 365 2018 Week 14

What a difference a day makes!  We woke up to sunshine and blue skies.  We’d arranged to meet up with friends at Coughton Court – a new National Trust property for us.  They’d mentioned on their website that there was limited parking due to the recent bad weather, but didn’t mention that the majority of the grounds were also closed.  We arrived at opening time and were a tad disappointed as we were all dressed for a good walk in the mud, but we made the best of what we had and we’ll definitely be back again in the future to explore more.

It was still nice to catch up with friends and Iona gave me one of her beautiful paintings as a birthday present, which is now hanging in my living room.

Friday 6th April – Day 96

Project 365 2018 Week 14

We met up with Emma and N from Bubbablue and Me for some fun at Waddesdon Manor.  My son was adamant he wanted to go into the house for the first time to see the clockwork elephant that had been shown on the recent television series about National Trust properties and he wasn’t disappointed.  It was his first time inside the house, and it’s got to be at least 9 years for me too, mad considering how many times we visit the grounds.  Spot the sons of bloggers, snapping away!

The boys get on really well and were soon off playing in the grounds leaving Emma and I to have a good catch up. It was a lovely way to spend the day.

Saturday 7th April – Day 97

Project 365 2018 Week 14

It’s officially a pjs and chill out day.  We are both shattered and in need of a day at home doing nothing in particular.  We’ve Skyped Granny and Gramps in Spain from the comfort of my bed this morning and my son has now taken ownership of the sofa and the remote control.

My oldest friend has had to cancel our meet up on Tuesday and it’s probably for the best as it will give us another chill out day next week if we need it, before we head off for my birthday ‘surprise’ trip.  Not so much of a surprise now as I discovered where we’re going when I paid the credit card bill, but never mind.

  1. How lovely you got to meet up with Emma. It will be so lovely when my kid’s are able to go off and play a bit with others and I can have a full conversation with a grown up! All those visits sound so much fun too. #365

  2. That’s one busy week! You managed to cram in so many trips. Lovely photo of Monkey with Paddington bear. I haven’t visited the Botanic gardens in Oxford this side of the century. How lovely that you met Emma, and the boys had a great time together. I’ve also seen your photos from the Shard on FB, and just looking at them gave me vertigo, I really am not good with such big heights. 🙂

  3. It looks like a great week! You’ve had so much fun and been all over the place. It sounds like an epic trip to London. I think you deserved a pj day after the week you’ve had.

  4. Nice of the easter bunny to leave the indoor dry Easter egg trail 🙂 and it sounds like a really busy week. Hope the birthday surprise is a good one (even though it’s not really a surprise anymore!)

  5. Sounds like a very busy but very interesting week for you. Blogging has brought you a lot of pleasurable days out.
Love that top picture and chuckled at the lovely normal family background in picture 2.

  6. Sounds like a good week! World of Dinosaurs sounds fab….will have to try to visit the attraction. Sounds like you had a good time in London

  7. I was so jealous when I saw the pics of all the bloggers and their children with the dinosaurs! I think I will be arranging a trip there for my dino-mad kids. I was so sad when Dippy was removed, I’m sure the whale is interesting but not as iconic #project365
