Project 365 2019 Week 13 Day 83 – 89

Sunday 24th March – Day 83

Project 365 2019 Week 13

We headed over to Stowe for an hour in the afternoon once Daddy P was up.  It ended up being a very late dinner day but never mind.

Monday 25th March – Day 84

Project 365 2019 Week 13

So lovely to see colour back in the garden and to feel that Spring has arrived.

Tuesday 26th March – Day 85

Project 365 2019 Week 13

I had a little visitor while I was working this morning.

After school we headed into town to drop off my son’s disposable camera from his school trip, to be developed.  I wonder what we’ll be picking up next week!

Wednesday 27th March – Day 86

Project 365 2019 Week 13

My son decided to be the joke teller over breakfast with his World Book Day Lego book, he was hilarious.

We had a good day.  It was my bestie’s birthday so we Face-timed her before school, I got a text from my niece letting me know her working visa for New Zealand had been approved and we arranged for a new addition to join our family in a couple of months.  I went from work straight to have my hair done and from there to drop the car home before walking to meet my son.

We went to the park after school, it was lovely sitting in the sun, chatting whilst the kids ran around.

Thursday 28th March – Day 87

Project 365 2019 Week 13

My son asked me to take a photo of him and his bestie on the way to school against ‘their hedge’ (don’t ask) even though the sun was shining straight at them, hence the grimace!

After I’d walked the boys to school I headed off for a catch up with my friend H, over a cuppa and a pastry.  We’ve been friends for a long time now and although we don’t always see each other regularly, we always just pick up where we left off.  We always end up laughing no matter what stress we have going on. I’m lucky to have some lovely friends like her.

Back home for some work before school pick up.

Friday 29th March – Day 88

Project 365 2019 Week 13

A busy morning at work and some work to catch up on at home before I headed to school for a Mother’s Day afternoon tea.

My son ran across the playground when he saw me, and gave me the biggest hug.  There was a huge spread of sandwiches and a queue to match.  The head sent some of us off in one direction but there were no plates at that end, so we ended up in no mans land, trying to push in to grab a few sandwiches, and went back later to grab a cup of tea.  All of the decorated tables were taken so we sat outside in the sunshine, we missed out on cake much to my son’s disappointment.  It was a lovely idea, one I hope they do again, but the set up needs a bit of rethinking.

Saturday 30th March – Day 89

Project 365 2019 Week 13

It’s been such a lovely day, it was registering at 25 degrees in the garden by lunchtime.  Lush.

My son spent the morning digging in his mud pit whilst I chilled out with my book and a cuppa.  When I went in to make lunch I could hear my son talking, I went to investigate and he was reading my book out loud.  Wow, a first.  Then he announced that he wanted to read one of his own book and promptly disappeared to get one from his bookcase.  Nine books later!!! A first.

After lunch we headed off to the school Easter Fayre and went on the Easter Egg hunt.  My son really loves this event and was soon running around the grounds finding all the clues.  When we headed home, a Mr Whippy van was in the road, I figured a treat was in order after all that voluntary reading today.

  1. Well done to your son on all that reading! Hopefully the start of things to come. Love that top photo of him – that really is the classic photo of him with the tree and the red coat. Does he have a red jumper and a red Tshirt to replace the coat now the weather is warming up?

  2. I love it when children pick up books, they are copying us, I think, and seeing how relaxing we find it. Sounds like you’ve had a wonderful week! You should definitely treat yourself to cake, seeing as you missed out x

  3. It does feel like spring has arrived!
Good look with the photos from the disposable camera. I think the shots might be interesting. hehehe
Ahh! It is lovely to be able to sit in the garden. It was lovely here this morning but chucked it down all afternoon and still is now.

  4. Yay, go Monkey with the reading. Mine’s meant to be doing a sponsored read this month – but he’s still not reading much. He just goes through phases of starting books and never finishing them.

  5. well done F with all the reading, really impressed. mother’s DaY TREAT AT SCHOOL SOUNDS A LOVELY IDEA BUT YES, BETTER ARRANGEMENTS NEEDED. NO IDEA WHY I WAS SHOUTING THEN, CAN’T BE BOTHERED TO GO BACK AND RETYPE, still doing it I see, would’ve been quicker to re type than ramble on, but hope it provides you with some entertainment

  6. That ladybird sure does have a lot of spots on it. Do the spots show it’s age? My hubby chose the same book for my eldest. She really liked the colourful characters but can’t read yet. #365

  7. The Mothers Day tea does sound badly planned, and shame no tables inside available but glad it was sunny and not raining. Love the sound of the enthusiastic meeting as he ran across the playground.
It is nice to meet up with friends and have a chat.
Well done on reading the books and yes an ice cream sounds a good treat.

  8. Well done to Monkey on all that reading! The Mothers Day Tea sounds like a fab idea but does sound like it was a bit disorganised!

  9. Lovely to see Monkey with a book, cracking jokes. Eddie loves reading jokes aloud from his joke books as well. I can only groan. 🙂 The Mother’s day tea doesn’t sound well-organised, there should have been enough sitting places and cake for everyone.

  10. I thought Spring had arrived too although I found myself driving through snow this week. Its great that he picked up and decided to read your book. Sorry that the Mothers day tea was disorganised but it sounds in principal a lovely idea. I hope you had a lovely Mothers Day x

  11. He looks so grown up in that first pic! We had a mums’ morning at Anya’s school and it was the 5th year in a row that I’ve sat throught the same assembly (only 4 more to go!) #project365
