HMS BElfast

Project 365 2019 Week 33

Project 365 2019 Week 33 Day 223 – 229

Sunday 11th August – Day 223

boy with sticks

We had a chilled out day, sorted stuff out in the garden and played games indoors.

Monday 12th August – Day 224

black and white kitten

Today was the first time my son went to a childminder, she’s a neighbour so he knows her, but it was still a big step for him and we were both feeling a bit nervous about it.

Paddington has had a poorly tummy and is on a cooked chicken only diet for a few days, he’s not complaining at all.

After work and lunch, we headed into town to watch the Playmobil Movie.  I wasn’t expecting it to be very good but actually, we both really enjoyed it.

Tuesday 13th August – Day 225

HMS BElfast

We were invited down to London to review the Brainiac Live show which we both enjoyed. Once that had finished we headed to HMS Belfast for the afternoon.  My son had watched a documentary about the warship recently and decided that he was ready to visit it.  Chiltern Railways offer a 2 for 1 ticket deal so we made use of that and had a great time exploring the various decks.  He did so well with the ladders and to stand right at the front and rear of the ship.  He’d never have been able to do that a year ago.

After walking along part of the Thames Path we decided to head home after a really lovely day out.

Wednesday 14th August – Day 226

kitten

What a difference a day makes, yesterday was a lovely summer’s day, today it’s rained pretty much all day.

My son went off to the minder without any issues and I headed into work for a few hours.

Paddington has gone from one extreme to the other with regards to his bowel movements, honestly, it’s worse than having children at times.  We are all on poop watch now.

Thursday 15th August – Day 227

Project 365 2019 Week 33

After we’d been shopping we headed home to keep an eye on Paddington.  He’s tummy still isn’t right and let’s just say that cleaning up a kitten with long hair is a lot harder than any toddler!

My son was inspired by our trip to see HMS Belfast earlier in the week and he created another Lego warship today.

Friday 16th August – Day 228

Project 365 2019 Week 33

Work for me in the morning and my son went to the minder.  Paddington seems to have gone off chicken now, so another plan may be required.

There were lots of cuddles when we got home.  Pouring with rain again, where has the summer gone?

Saturday 17th August – Day 229

Hornby Visitor Centre Bittern loco

We got up at the crack of dawn and headed down to Margate for the Open Weekend event at the Hornby Visitor Centre. We hadn’t told my son that his favourite steam loco Bittern was being stored there, waiting to be overhauled. He was rather happy and we had a great time.

After lunch we headed to RAF Manston to explore their RAF Museum and the Spitfire and Hurricane Museum next door.  From there we made a quick stop at Reculver before heading over to see my Uncle.  He’s fighting prostate cancer at the moment  and it’s a bit of an uphill battle so it was nice to spend time with him.

  1. Sounds like it was a good week. I love HMS Belfast, I reckon it’s one of the best attractions in London, but N’s not happy going on boats at the moment. Trying to persuade him to do Cutty Sark, but he’s moaning even though it’s dry docked. Sigh.

Where are Monkey’s jeans in that top picture from? They look a really nice cut without being too skinny.

  2. I hope your son got on OK with the childminder.
Aww! Poor Paddington. I hope he’s better soon. He’s growing fast!
My two fancy watching the Playmobil Movie, I think we might have a trip to the cinema before the summer holidays end. x

  3. Glad the child minder is going well – its a constant juggling act isn’t it? I am sorry Paddington is not well I hope you figure it out soon and he gets better. We went to HMS belfast last week as well and loved it. I had no idea there was a Spitfire Museum my husband loves Spitfires I will have to look into that. Glad you had a great day out and saw your Uncle as well x

  4. Monkey is a very lucky boy, he’s seen so many things and being to so many events. Glad to hear that it went well with the childminder. Paddington looks gorgeous. Hope his pooping is back to normal now.

  5. Good to know his experience with the childminder went well. Brainiac live show! I loved that show when it would be aired here! It kept my interest in science strong. Great to know you and your son had a great time at HMS Belfast. I’m recalling the names of the planes, Spitfire and Hurricane, from the movie Dunkirk. The museum must’ve been exciting. Cleaning cat ‘deposits’ can be a nuisance. I’ve had cats before and our house literally stinked of cat as they would often poop on the carpet inspite of being potty trained

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
