Project 365 2019 Week 36 Day 244 – 250

Sunday 1st September – Day 244

Bournemouth Air Festival

We headed down to the coast bright and early to enjoy a day at the Bournemouth Air Festival.  It costs £10 to use the park and ride and the event itself is free.  So we carried our camp chairs and a picnic down to the beach and had a great day.  The weather was good, my son spent most of the day digging his way to New Zealand and we all enjoyed the aerial displays.

Monday 2nd September – Day 245

Project 365 2019 Week 36

A real manic Monday.  My son spent his last morning with the minder, he was quite sad to not be going back to her again.  As soon as I’d finished work we headed up the motorway to Derbyshire for an overnight stay with my bestie.

My son ate his lunch in the car and I grabbed a quick sandwich once we’d arrived.  We then headed out for one of our favourite walks before going out for dinner.

In other news, my OH started a new job today.  Some much-needed stability after a rubbish six months.  It will

Tuesday 3rd September – Day 246

Calke Explore

After breakfast, we drove to Calke Abbey to see the next Calke Explore area that’s been updated in the woodland.  There’s a lovely outdoor seating area with a cafe and toilets as well as new parts to the woodland play area.  My son was soon to be found exploring and we all agreed it’s somewhere we’ll be revisiting again and again on future visits.

We went back to my bestie’s for lunch and I sorted a few jobs for her before we headed back down the motorway to get ready for school tomorrow.

Wednesday 4th September – Day 247

Project 365 2019 Week 36

Back to School and the start of Year Five.  It’s scary to think my son is now in Upper Key Stage Two.  He was quite happy walking in with his best friend this morning.  Let’s hope that the smile is still in place by the end of the week.

Thursday 5th September – Day 248

Project 365 2019 Week 36

Cuddles before school.

As soon as I dropped the boys off at school I headed out to start my new second job.  I’m covering admin for someone going on maternity leave later this month, working from home.  Lots to learn and I’m looking forward to the challenge.  It means I’ll be working every day during school hours now so I’ve got some adjusting to do and will have to figure out how I can juggle the blog work as well.

It was our 10th Wedding Anniversary today, amazing that I’ve not murdered Daddy P yet!!  He did bring me home some flowers at the end of the day which was rather unexpected.

Friday 6th September – Day 249

Project 365 2019 Week 36

This little monkey went to the vets this morning before school for his ‘snip and chip’ procedure.  I got a phone call mid-morning to say it had all gone well and the nurses had fallen in love with Paddington.

I had a busy workday going straight from job one to job two, home and then off to pick my son up from school.  We then went to get Paddington from the vets.  He’s got a check-up next Friday and then if all is well, then he will be allowed out – I’m dreading that tbh, as he is so adventurous.

Saturday 7th September – Day 250

Project 365 2019 Week 36

A certain not so little kitten is six months old today.  He’s still a little subdued after his op yesterday and has found a few new places to crash out.

I popped over to Banbury for a few hours to join my great niece for her second birthday party.  She had a wonderful time and it was lovely to catch up with everyone from my ex’s family.

We’ve not had many treats this year but things finally seem to be turning a corner with finances so to celebrate the OH having a job and our wedding anniversary earlier in the week, we decided to have a Chinese takeaway.  Living the high life!!

  1. Glad things are looking up. Hope both your admin job and the OH’s job go well. Paddington is so sweet. I’ve not seen any of the cats on the farm for ages. I think they’ve moved out of their original box they used to sleep in

  2. So pleased to hear things might be improving for you at last! Well done to you both for getting a new job. You’re going to be very busy! Year 5 certainly does sound very grown up. Your son is looking so tall these days.
I hope Paddington doesn’t get into too much mischief when he’s allowed out!

  3. It sounds like a great day at the air show!
Congrats to your hubby and his new job and you in your 2nd job! I am glad things are a bit more stable for you now! I hope you work out a new routine with blogging.
It sounds like the return to school went well.
Happy anniversary to you and Daddy P! x

  4. Oh wow it was our 10 year anniversary on the 4th of September! Congratulations. Hope your husband’s new job is going well and Paddington has recovered. Good luck when he goes out I found the whole process very nerve wracking x
