Project 365 2021 Week 21 Day 143-149 The week that the OH and I both had our second Covid jabs and my son had his last week at school before his last half term holiday at Primary School!
Sunday 23rd May – Day 143
Spent most of the day with my bestie before heading home. Have now discovered by accident that my car has cruise control! I really need to just sit in the car with the manual as I have hardly driven the car anywhere since I bought it in September.
Monday 24th May – Day 144
My car is due for its first MOT by early June so I got it booked in ahead of time so I don’t have to worry over half term. It passed which wasn’t a surprise but always nice to be sure.
We received all the paperwork via email from my son’s Secondary school today, all very real now.
Tuesday 25th May – Day 145
It’s six months today since we lost Paddington. My Timehop has been full of kitten spam over the last few days as he moved in with us two years ago last week. We miss him very much.
Second vaccination day for myself and the OH. Fingers crossed I don’t feel as awful as I did after the first one. There were hundreds of poppies out at the local vaccination centre, the photo doesn’t do them justice at all. I took paracetamol a couple of hours before my appointment and will continue every four hours in the hope that helps.
We’ve decided to have one of my son’s school sweatshirts and joggers made into a keepsake bear and I asked for local makers to get in touch with me last night. This morning my son picked the bears he liked the most and I’m dropping everything off to the lady tomorrow.
Wednesday 26th May – Day 146
My day off and a trip to the dentist with a mid-day appointment for a deep clean. Thankfully the paracetamol seems to have done the trick, slept well, arm hurts more than the first time but I feel a million % better this time around, unlike so many friends with AZ so hopefully that’s me done with it now.
Quick walk to the local post office to post a few letters, tried to go on the drive back from work on Monday but there was nowhere to park and the queue was out the door.
Dropped off one of my son’s old school sweatshirts to be made into a keepsake bear and then headed into town for a dental appointment for a deep clean. Then home to get a few things organised for my care home visit this weekend and sold some of my son’s clothes that he’s grown out of. It won’t be long before he’s towering over me.
Thursday 27th May – Day 147
The raindrops on the Acer looked a little glitter.
I think our Squirrel Cupid, has had a couple of babies as there were two little squirrels running up and down the fence, I didn’t have the right lens on the camera to catch them, but they did look cute.
Friday 28th May – Day 148
I thought the weather forecast was meant to be sunny, gutted to come out of work to rain, again!
A lovely start to the half-term holidays when my son came home with Star of the Week.
Saturday 29th May – Day 149
It’s just a matter of time until the dandelions and daisies that are covering the lawn are gone. Apparently, the OH is cutting the lawns when he gets back from work later. I can then attack the hedge.
So fed up with the snails and slugs, not only have they stripped all of our sunflowers, they’ve not destroyed the runner beans too. I bet they can’t wait for the tomato plants to leave the greenhouse. Grrrr!
My son and I are having a chill-out day, I’m pottering about doing jobs and making chocolate puff pastry twists and he’s making some Lego animations. We’ve got a long day out tomorrow with most of it being spent in the car.
That’s great news that the car sailed through it’s MOT and you didn’t feel too bad after your 2nd vaccine.
What a fantastic idea to make a keepsake bear from your son’s school clothes. He’s looking more and more grown up every week. x
He’s a proper teenager in waiting 🙁
Great news: 2nd jabs, MOT done, lovely idea of a keepsake bear, and baby squirrels. It was a very busy week. I will keep in mind your advice of taking paracetamol before the jab. I had Pfizer and on the following day I had averse effects, paracetamol might help with that.
Thanks, hopefully it will help you
Always a relief when cars pass the MOT. Love the keepsake bear idea for old school uniform. I never know what to do with N’s (the stuff that isn’t in a state to pass one). Glad you didn’t feel bad after your 2nd jab. I was fine too (took paracetamol this time) but a mum at tennis felt awful again after hers.
I really like their school logo so it seemed like a good idea to make a bear out of one of his tops. Hopefully, it will look ok when it’s been made. The jabs are weird, both my brother and I were fine after our second ones thankfully.
Glad you and your OH have both had your second jabs. I’ve got mine booked now too! I need to look at my car manual properly at some point too – I’m sure it has features I’ve not yet discovered! Always good when it passes the MOT without any problems. Big hugs to you on the six month milestone without Paddington. I can imagine that was a tough day. Well done to your son on being star of the week. #project365
Thank you
Congrats to your son on his star of the week! I’ve had my first jab but my husband and I haven’t had our second. I’ve never used our cruise control… #project365
Thanks
What a lovely idea to get his school jumper made into a teddy bear. I did that with the boys baby clothes but never thought about the school bits. Yay for the MOT and for a simple second jab. Hope you have had a lovely half term.
And I should have done something with the baby clothes, but I gave them all away which I can’t believe I did now.
Glad you didn’t feel too bad after your 2nd vaccine and fab that the car sailed through it’s MOT – benefits of having a newer one!
Well done on star of the week and the keepsake bear sounds like such a lovely thing! I should have done that with my eldest!
Glad you didn’t feel too bad after the second dose. I just had my first a few weeks ago and nervous about the second.
I’m so glad your second vaccine went well. I didn’t feel great but I also think I gave myself a bit of a stress headache. What a great idea for a memory bear. I always wanted to get that done with the baby grows but never got around to it. We have cruise control and god knows what else on our car. Darren likes to use it, personally I’m not brave enough to use it #365
