Project 365 2021 Week 30

Project 365 2021 Week 30 Day 206 – 212 The first full week of the school holidays, a catch up with eldest niece and great-niece and preparing for our kittens to arrive.

Sunday 25th July – Day 206

Project 365 2021 Week 30

We had a chilled out day at home catching up with the Olympic Games from Tokyo.  It will also be the last weekend before the kittens arrive, so extra loving time for Brewster ahead of the mayhem to come soon.

Monday 26th July – Day 207

Project 365 2021 Week 30

Back to work for me, although I work up with a start this morning, thinking we were going to be late for school.  Uuum, no!

A busy double workday for me and then an evening catching up with some blog work before I could enjoy seeing our first rose from our new standard rose.  It looks like it’s been a bit battered by the wind already.

Tuesday 27th July – Day 208

Juvenile Greenfinch

A busy double workday again and plenty of action in the garden with all sorts of visitors including a family of greenfinches.  The parents came down to the feeders whilst the youngster stayed in the tree watching on.

My son received a Bricklink order so he was busy redesigning one of his Lego tank engines he’s built recently, using the new pieces.

Wednesday 28th July – Day 209

Project 365 2021 Week 30

My day off and we headed off to meet up with my niece from my ex-family and my great-niece and their brand new kitten Milo.  We’ve not seen each other for almost two years thanks to Coronavirus and as my great-niece is nearly four now, you can imagine how much she’s changed.  No longer shy and very much a little entertainer and the spitting image of my ex-SIL.  She’s totally adorable as is Milo the kitten.  It was lovely to see them and spend some long-overdue quality time with my eldest niece.  We took the kids out to lunch at a local pub that used to be my local many many years ago.

Thursday 29th July – Day 210

Juvenile Goldfinch

Another day and another family feeding frenzy – today it was the turn of the goldfinches and the first time I’ve spotted a juvenile.

Really busy day at job one and then home for more with job two.  My son is having to occupy himself but we’re making it work so far.

The OH went to the funeral of his ex-MIL today along with his sister. Cancer strikes its ugly head once more.

Friday 30th July – Day 211

Project 365 2021 Week 30

Another busy workday and summer seems to have disappeared, with lots of rain showers today.  I’ve got Gladioli that are about to flower for the first time and this climber (name forgotten – I’m sure Mum will email me to tell me what it is) has a flower that’s come out today too.

Saturday 31st July – Day 212

Project 365 2021 Week 30

This afternoon Fudge and PIppi come to their new home.  Prepare for double trouble kitten spam from now on and in the meantime, their Lego alter-egos will have to suffice.

Been battling with an insurance company over policy claims for my Auntie for almost a year and finally had some post today which might have resolved most of our claims at last.  When care home fees are so huge every penny we can claw back for her has to be fought for.

  1. How exciting! A new kitten!
It looks like Brewster is getting an extra special lot of attention before the new arrival.
How lovely you got to see your nieces and good on you for battling the insurance company for your Auntie. x

  2. So exciting about the kittens arriving. Nice to see the young goldfinch – such strange plumage with the striking wings. We’ve only ever seen the adults. The only young birds I’ve seen have been swallows waiting on the fence for the parents to swoop in and feed them!

  3. I am so looking forward to see the kittens. The gladioli looks gorgeous.
The Olympics is pretty amazing, isn’t it? I watch much more than I would have imagined I would. :))

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
