Project 365 2021 Week 31

Project 365 2021 Week 31 Day 213 – 219 and our first week as a three cat family and this post is particularly kitten heavy!

Sunday 1st August – Day 213

Tabby Kittens

Pippi and Fudge had a really good first night.  They are sleeping overnight in the kitchen and they were quiet all night. Fudge has been very timid so far and his sister has been in charge.  I’ve left their cat basket in the hallway so that Brewster could have a sniff.

Monday 2nd August – Day 214

Project 365 2021 Week 31

Back to a full working day for me and the first time the kittens were left at home without us for a while.  After I’d finished work it was time for their first vet appointment and the first round of vaccinations.  Although Pippa looks much larger than Fudge they actually weighed the same which amazed me.  I was a bit worried about him as he hadn’t been eating much but today he seems to have really settled in and started to be more confident.  They both got a clean bill of health and are back in three weeks for their second vaccinations.

Summer seems to have disappeared and it poured with rain on and off all day.

Tuesday 3rd August – Day 215

Project 365 2021 Week 31

We’ve introduced Pippi and Fudge to the rest of the house and they’ve found lots of new places to fall asleep.  Brewster has been introduced to them and apart from a bit of hissing, so far so good.

Wednesday 4th August – Day 216

Project 365 2021 Week 31

My day off and the sun made an appearance for a change this week.  We’d arranged a meet up with some of our NCT group ages ago and it just happened to be the same day as a local event.  It meant the town park was much much busier than it would normally have been but we managed to find a quiet, shady spot for our picnic.

Thursday 5th August – Day 217

Project 365 2021 Week 31

I had a crazy busy morning at job one and was exhausted before I’d even started job two.  But thankfully that was calmer and when I finished a zoom meeting I was met by this sight.  One of my concerns about introducing more kittens into our home was how Brewster was going to react.  It took a good six months before he started to mellow to Paddington so how would he be with two?  Fudge isn’t bothered about Brewster’s size at all and although Brewster is still hissing, it’s not all the time and he’s more tolerant this time around.

The kittens are eleven weeks old today.

Friday 6th August – Day 218

Project 365 2021 Week 31

My little engineer is having to entertain himself most of the time during these holidays, so lots of Mum guilt.  Thankfully the kittens have helped this week and he hasn’t been glued to Youtube, his Switch or on his phone playing games constantly.  Today he decided to design a narrow gauge railway track and loco.  He’s now looking at a chain mechanism to pull the train along with his motor.

Saturday 7th August – Day 219

Juvenile Wood Pigeon

Spotted another new visitor in the garden, this time what I think is a juvenile Wood Pigeon who decided to take a break on the edge of the birdbath.

Off to see my brother on his birthday later.

  1. The kittens are so sweet. So glad to see that Brewster is slowly accepting the little ones. Hope you continue to post about all three every now and then 🙂
    Happy Birthday to your brother.

  2. The kittens are so sweet. I do miss having cats we can actually get close to and stroke. Maybe Brewster’s remembered how nice it actually was to have another cat in the house, so is more relaxed this time round. Plus I suppose the kittens can attack each other and not necessarily Brewster so much.
That’s a lovely photo of the 2 of you on your NCT meet up.

  3. Aww your kittens are gorgeous. Their stripes are beautiful. I grew up with cats and at one point had 12 (2 sets of kittens). My little boy loves cats but my partner is allergic or we’d probably have a couple as well 🙂

  4. They are so beautiful, I do love a fluffy kitten. Good to hear that they got a clean bill of health from the vet. It is so difficult getting that work life balance during the Summer holidays I am not looking forward to going back to work and having to deal with it again. Like the sound of the narrow gauge railway.

  5. Aww loving your kittens! SO adorable….making me want to get some now. But I think I will wait till baby is much older before I bring a pet back into the home.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
