Project 365 2021 Week 7 Day 45-51 Half term week and a little time to unwind and just do nothing.
Sunday 14th February – Day 45
I don’t do Valentine’s Day, as I’ve mentioned in previous year, today is all about remembering my Papa on his birthday.
I am so far behind with my current cross stitch project, it’s sat rather unloved for a while but I cracked on with it a bit today and realised that I really need a better magnifying glass than my son’s bug hunter one, so I ordered an over the neck one complete with light from Amazon. Hopefully, it will make things a little easier.
Monday 15th February – Day 46
Whilst I am working on my normal days, my son has no school work all week for half term and what a difference it’s made to our life on day one! Just not having such a strict timetable to follow and not being glued to a screen all day, even Brewster seems a bit more chilled out today.
After work, we began our Harry Potter film marathon. We aim to watch all of the films this week ahead of a new school topic on Monday.
Tuesday 16th February – Day 47
It’ll come as no surprise that there’s been a fair bit of Lego building going on again this week. My son is a big fan of Robin Hood Bricks on YouTube and having watched his latest video on his engine shed build my son set to work on his own version.
Wednesday 17th February – Day 48
My no working day and we continued with the chilled out theme. We walked to the local post office as I needed to sort out some airmail post and it meant my son had to go for a walk. Getting him out of the house is proving a bit of a challenge.
Once we’d got home we looked at a couple of things that we’ve been sent for reviews and spent time building Lego and watching films. I’ve got loads of admin that needs doing, but actually, I’m exhausted and chilling out now will hopefully make me more productive in the weeks ahead.
Thursday 18th February – Day 49
My son had am Amazon delivery today which kept him quiet for a while. His birthday and Christmas money has been burning a hole in his pocket for the last two months, so he splashed out on the Hidden Side Train to add to his loco collection. I’m sure it will receive all sorts of modifications shortly.
I received a phone call from the Eye Hospital in the afternoon, I thought they were cancelling my appointment but thankfully they just wanted to make sure I’m still going next week. Seeing as my original appointment was in September, I’m very keen to actually be seen.
Friday 19th February – Day 50
Another grey day but at least it’s warmer. Our old wooden bed had drawers underneath so there was no way for anyone other than a kitten to get under the bed – yes that was Paddington. Anyway, when we changed our bed last year Brewster took ownership of being able to sleep under the bed. I thought originally it was to get away from Paddington, but now I think it’s probably to get away from my son. The only place he can get some peace and quiet!
After work, we had a Skype call with my parents and a very constructive conversation with a contact who I’m hoping will be able to put a few things in place to help my uncle in the coming months. Fingers crossed that all works out.
My son and I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One – much darker and more mature than the other films in the series we’ve watched this week, only one more to go on Saturday and we’ve seen them all in our half term marathon viewing session. I wish we’d been as successful with daily exercise. We haven’t and I know that as soon as I go back to work I’m going to have to walk it to try and lose weight.
Saturday 20th February – Day 51
I guess the line in the sky was a vapour trail this morning, planes seem such a rarity to see here these days.
Another virtual funeral for me this morning.
We’re having our pancake day today. The OH is never home on Shrove Tuesdays and I’d already got something ready for dinner on Tuesday before remembering it was meant to be pancake day. So as the OH doesn’t go to work until after lunchtime on Saturdays, today is the day.
