Project 365 2022 Week 21

Project 365 2022 Week 19-22

Project 365 2022 Week 19-22 Day 128 – 155 I’m not sure how a month has gone by without me publishing my weekly update, but it is what it is!

Sunday 8th May – Day 128

Project 365 2022 Week 19

I actually got to watch one of our butterflies hatching out.  Watching the wings unfurl was mesmerising.

Monday 9th May – Day 129

Project 365 2022 Week 19

I have a bit of a cat collection, something I started many, many years ago.  My latest edition was purchased in Castleton last weekend.  He’s actually Polish, but I love him.

After work today I met up with a couple of friends for lunch and a natter.

Tuesday 10th May – Day 130

Project 365 2022 Week 19

I had a lot of running around to do after work today and got to enjoy a bit of sunshine too.

I rang the surgery for my blood test results only to receive the wrong test results.  Great to know that my liver and bones are great, but not actually should have been tested.  The surgery needs to get hold of my GP to clarify what’s happened.

Wednesday 11th May – Day 131

Project 365 2022 Week 19

My day off – look at the weather!

Thursday 12th May – Day 132

Project 365 2022 Week 19

So annoyed with myself – cut through the cable for the hedge trimmer – grrr.

My son had his check-up with the dentist after school and has now been referred to the orthodontist because of a couple of issues.  It wasn’t a surprise and I’ve been trying to prepare my son was this eventuality for a while.  I’m pretty certain he’ll end up with at least a brace, and maybe an extraction as well.  We received a copy of the referral letter and photographs this evening, but it could be quite a wait for an actual appointment.

Friday 13th May – Day 133

Project 365 2022 Week 19

Picked up my Alexandra Buckle print from the framers and my son left a few of his newly acquired steam locomotive prints to be framed.

Saturday 14th May – Day 134

Project 365 2022 Week 19

The sun decided to stay with us all day, glorious weather and lots of time spent in the garden.

Sunday 15th May – Day 135

Project 365 2022 Week 20

We spent the day in London with my SIL.  The sun decided to stay away but we made the best of a wet day.  Started with a trip to the Golden Hinde, saw the house where my great-great-grandparents lived from the late 1880s, had lunch at the UJ Club and got to see the Grenadier Guards on display.

Monday 16th May – Day 136

Project 365 2022 Week 20

Love the fact that these three will happily share space together.

Tuesday 17th May – Day 137

Project 365 2022 Week 20

I headed to a different hospital today for an appointment in the Nuclear Medicine department.  Sounded scarier than it was really, but hopefully, this scan will answer a few questions and a final decision can be made.  Parking at the city hospitals is a nightmare, so I took a train and bus instead.

Wednesday 18th May – Day 138

Project 365 2022 Week 20

I’d swapped my day off so worked today.  Managed to get out in the sunshine afterwards before my son came home from school.

Thursday 19th May – Day 139

Project 365 2022 Week 20

Brewster never strays far from home, and if the sun appears, he is always to be found in the garden.

Friday 20th May – Day 140

Project 365 2022 Week 20

Picked my son’s framed prints up after work and hung the finished result up on his bedroom wall when he got home from school.

Saturday 21st May – Day 141

Project 365 2022 Week 20

We had early bird tickets for the Milton Keynes Brick Festival, our first Lego exhibition. We were early but there was still a long queue and parking was a challenge.  There were a number of displays and a lot of stalls, so my son got to spend his pocket money on a few things he’s wanted for a while.  Star Wars Lego has started to feature rather heavily,

Sunday 22nd May – Day 142

Project 365 2022 Week 21

Nails are getting a bit long now but there’s no lift on the BIAB gell at all – so impressed.

Monday 23rd May – Day 143

Project 365 2022 Week 21

Whilst the rest of the team is at EBACE in Geneva for an exhibition I’m continuing my tour of the county’s hospitals – this week it’s just my regular Glaucoma clinic appointment thanks to my ocular hypertension.  Everything seems to be ok so will have to see when the consultant next wants me back again.

Tuesday 24th May – Day 144

Project 365 2022 Week 21

I started the day with another blood test.  After a week the GP finally confirmed that the wrong blood test had been ordered. Luckily I was home before the hail stone storm started with a really large clap of thunder which made me jump.

Wednesday 25th May – Day 145

Project 365 2022 Week 21

I’m working today and noticed these two curled up together.  They get on remarkably well considering they are boys.

Thursday 26th May – Day 146

Project 365 2022 Week 21

Strange cat – Pippi seems to prefer the bath!

Friday 27th May – Day 147

Project 365 2022 Week 21

I headed down to London for a couple of hours to catch up with some old friends who are over from Germany for a couple of days.  They are seeing the ABBA Voyage show on Saturday and were lucky enough to be invited to the opening night last night, they got to see the group up close so we had plenty to talk about.  We had brunch, walked around St Katherine’s Dock and saw the start of Super Bloom at the Tower of London before I had to head home.

The end of term and my son got a class award for Star of the Term – a nice way to start the holidays.

Saturday 28th May – Day 148

Project 365 2022 Week 21

I headed back down to London, this time with my SIL as we got to spend the day at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.  A lot of the displays had a Platinum Jubilee theme to them. We also got to see a lot of the Belgravia and Chelsea in Bloom from our taxi.

Sunday 29th May – Day 149

Project 365 2022 Week 22

One boy and his cat – Fudge loves him almost as much as my son loves him.

We had tickets for Top Gun Maverick which was very good and a little emotional too.  Came out of the cinema to learn that the husband of an old friend had passed away in his sleep yesterday. Shocking.

Monday 30th May – Day 150

Project 365 2022 Week 22

We headed over for a doorstep visit with my ex-MIL once I’d finished work.  The clouds were looking ominous when we left home but thankfully the weather was kind to us.  She’s doing well all things considered and we got to see my niece and great-niece too.

Tuesday 31st May – Day 151

Project 365 2022 Week 22

I’ve not been organised enough on the bunting front so we printed some templates off from the internet and I set my son to work, cutting them out, stringing and hanging them.  He then decided to use the chalk pens to add some additional decorations to the patio window.

Wednesday 1st June – Day 152

Project 365 2022 Week 22

I’m off work now until next week so my son and I caught the bus into Oxford.  We saw some of the sights, had a lovely brunch at Queen’s Lane Coffee House and checked on my Dad’s bugs at the Natural History Museum.

Thursday 2nd June – Day 153

Project 365 2022 Week 22

We got to watch our local Jubilee Beacon lighting ceremony with family, followed by a fireworks display. A lovely free event to start the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.  We’d watched the events in London beforehand.

Friday 3rd June – Day 154

Project 365 2022 Week 22

The OH had the day off so we headed off on a new adventure.  We started the day at Goodrich Castle – can thoroughly recommend a visit.  We then headed off to Symonds Yat and Skenfrith Castle before ending the day at Westbury Court Garden, before the rain caught up with us on the drive home.

Saturday 4th June – Day 155

Project 365 2022 Week 22

My son has gone to work with Dad for a few hours and the cats and I are enjoying a bit of peace and quiet with just the noise of a plane on the airfield practising some aerobatics.

What have you been up to over the last few weeks?

  1. Lovely to catch up with you and your photos.
How wonderful to see your butterflies hatching. Good luck to your son with the orthodontist. Braces are not that bad, my eldest had one for a couple of years and her teeth are amazing now.
The prints of the trains are perfect for your son. We went to a Lego exhibition last week which was fantastic. The Natural History Museum looks amazing too. x

  2. Lovely to hear all the goings on. That is a lot of appointments hopefully you get some answers/solutions. N’s got to go back again for orthodonists in September as they want to see how things have progressed by then. Probably no further!

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
