Project 365 2022 Week 29

Project 365 2022 Week 29  Day 198-204 The end of Year 7 for my son and the hottest weather in the UK ever.

Sunday 17th July – Day 198

Project 365 2022 Week 29

The weather forecast for the next few days is just insane and it seemed like a stupid idea to go very far today.  So instead of a long car journey to explore somewhere new, we decided to stay local and spend a few hours at Stowe before it got too hot.  They have left large swathes of the gardens to go wild and we saw so many butterflies, it was lovely.

Monday 18th July – Day 199

Project 365 2022 Week 29

I’m working with all of the windows, blinds and curtains shut and have tried to persuade these two to stay indoors but not always successfully.  They were definitely happy to have a roll around in the dry earth when I let them have their freedom.

School is finishing at 12.15 today and tomorrow with work being set at home for the missed lessons.  Today we had circuit diagrams to create for Physics – my son was amazed that I actually knew all about them.  No Maths was set, which made us both happy.

Tuesday 19th July – Day 200

Project 365 2022 Week 29

What a scorcher and with no aircon in sight.  Admittedly this thermometer was in the direct sunlight when I braved the garden at 1.30 pm but over 50 degrees!!! I can’t believe they made the kids do PE for the second day running in these temperatures, but they did.

No Maths set again today and English was to watch a performance of The Tempest, I’d not seen this play so was happy to make my son watch it too!

Wednesday 20th July – Day 201

Project 365 2022 Week 29

The last day of term and a lunchtime finish for my son. Year 7 was completed and his first year of Secondary School has really flown by quickly.

I got some jobs done in the morning and enjoyed my last few hours of peace and quiet until September.

Thursday 21st July – Day 202

Project 365 2022 Week 29

Summer holidays have started and the heatwave is well and truly over.  Of course.  Brewster is enjoying being able to snooze the day away in the garden again.

Managed to check in for both our outbound and return flights for next month.  Still not sure I’m going to believe that my son and I are on our way to Spain on the third attempt until we are actually on the plane.  But this is further than we’ve got since I booked the tickets late in 2019.

Friday 22nd July – Day 203

Project 365 2022 Week 29

My son has enjoyed chilling out for the last couple of days, I’m sure that I’ll be totally sick of Youtube very soon but next week hopefully I can get him to leave the house and do things once I’ve finished work.  Hopefully.

The snails and slugs have decimated my Dahlias but every so often I get a defiant flower pop out.

Saturday 23rd July – Day 204

Project 365 2022 Week 29

One of those summer days where the sun is fighting to beat the clouds.

Over 40 and a Mum to One

A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.

  1. The weather this past week was just ridiculous. It’s good that your sons school has been finishing early and hooray for no maths. Well done on completing year 7.
How exciting both you and your son are going to Spain. Fingers crossed the trip goes to plan.
It looks like a lovely day today for you. We had nothing but grey sky. Hmmf. x

  2. This school year has zoomed by hasn’t it. It was really too hot for me. N watches a lot of youtube too. 1 week down here, and I’m off next week, so we’ll be heading out and about. Are you working Wednesday next week, as I’ve got the week off but N’s at tennis camp? Could meet up for coffee if you’re not working.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
