Project 366 2016 Week 24

Project 366 2016 Week 24 Day 164-170 with The Boy and Me. More fun and games and lots of rain!

Sunday 12th June – Day 164

Project 366 2016 Week 24

A quiet day for us as I caught up with the mountain of ironing and Monkey and Daddy P chilled out a bit.  My living room constantly looks like a building site.

Monday 13th June – Day 165

Project 366 2016 Week 24

Brewster spent his 4th birthday sleeping, can’t say I blame him considering it’s been raining most of the day.

I went to help with the Maths Trail that was planned this morning, but the weather meant it was postponed. So instead I was helping the kids make 3D structures with newspapers, nuts and bolts and sellotape.  It was great fun and the kids really got into the activity.

When I got back I spotted that one of our butterflies had started to emerge, I quickly transferred it and 2 chrysalis into the butterfly tent, and covered over the caterpillar pot for the one remaining inhabitant.  Monkey was transfixed when he got home from school.

After dinner it was Beavers and Monkey was excited to see his friends.  He’s made Daddy P a top-secret present for Fathers Day apparently.

Tuesday 14th June – Day 166

Project 366 2016 Week 24

Our second butterfly waited until I’d dropped Monkey at school before deciding to emerge!  I got on with some work whilst Monkey was at school.

When he got home it was time for some dinosaur adventures.  I might also have booked flights for the two of us to see my parents in Spain at the end of term.  Our first solo foreign trip!

Wednesday 15th June – Day 167

Project 366 2016 Week 24

In the 10 minutes it took to get Monkey dressed for school butterfly number 3 emerged! Monkey was still thrilled though.  I contacted Dad for some advice as they didn’t seem to be feeding, moving them to our windowsill has done the trick.

I dashed off to Jado, home again to get changed and straight out again to catch up with

After school it was all about construction, this time Monkey was making moon buggy’s and rockets.  I love watching him at work, you can almost see the clogs whirring round in his head as he formulates a plan.

Thursday 16th June – Day 168

Project 366 2016 Week 24

The sun tried to shine today, there were moments of hope amongst the grey.  At least it’s stopped raining. I use Daddy P’s laptop when he’s at work as it’s much quicker than my second-hand one, but this last week it’s really been struggling with the wifi connection – grrrr.

Monkey came home in the wars, he’d fallen off a climbing frame at school and had a graze down his face and arm.  But the good news is he’s gone up another book band at school and was really chuffed with himself.  Slowly, slowly!

It rained, it rained a lot!  thunder, lightening, you name it.  The only saving grace was we were at home when it started.

Friday 17th June – Day 169

Project 366 2016 Week 24

The school has had a Maths Weeks with lots of maths themed activities and today everyone was asked to wear a maths themed accessory to school.  Getting Monkey to join in with anything like this is always a challenge.  He decided on making some dominoes with some card and gem stickers and we stapled it all together to make a sash.  He loved it, right up until he got to the classroom door where it was thrust at the TA.

OH’s laptop has totally lost its wifi connection so I’ve got to download photos to my external hard drive and then edit on my old laptop.  Photo posts may take a while to sort!

Saturday 18th June – Day 170

Project 366 2016 Week 24

We’ve had a very lazy day so far.  We’d been sent a Racing brick construction set for a review and Monkey and I assembled it before bedtime last night.  It took longer than we’d expected so he hadn’t got to play with it last night.  He’s been making up for it this morning.  Lots of crashes as you’d expect from a novice driver!

Monkey’s off to work with Daddy P this afternoon and I’m heading into Oxford with friends.  We’re having a meal before heading to the theatre to watch Priscilla Queen of the Desert.  I’m looking forward to it!

Have a good weekend everyone.
