Project 366 2016 Week 32

Project 366 2016 Week 32 Day 220-226.

Sunday 7th August – Day 220

Project 366 2016 Week 32

We spent the day at Countryfile Live which was being held not far from us at Blenheim Palace.  We arrived before the main gates opened, and left as they closed.  We had so much fun as you can see in my post.  John Craven signed my programme too, I was a happy Newsrounder.

Monday 8th August – Day 221

Project 366 2016 Week 32

We were both quite shattered after our busy day yesterday.  Monkey keeps waking up in the night again, so another restless one with him ending up in with me again.  Yawn.  After a lazy start we headed into the garden.  I suggested that Monkey create his own Olympics, just as I had with my brother years ago.  We had croquet, pumpaloons, high jump, skittles, ring toss and goal scoring.  It was fun right up until I dared to beat Monkey at skittles.  This boy has a lot to learn about losing games …..

Tuesday 9th August – Day 222

Project 366 2016 Week 32

Monkey and I headed over to Stowe Landscape Gardens this morning.  Monkey had picked up some sticks before we’d even got to the entrance, he was in a lovely mood.  We chatted away, he decided on our route and we had all sorts of fun.  We’d planned to treat ourselves to lunch in the cafe but bless him, he was running around, skidded and ended up scrapping his knee and arm.  Blood dripping down his leg, tears rolling down his cheeks. He wanted to go home, thankfully I managed to persuade him that his leg wasn’t going to fall off and I couldn’t possibly carry him.  So the day didn’t go quite as planned, but I got him cleaned up and he was so running around at home.  No long-term damage done.

Wednesday 10th August – Day 223

Project 366 2016 Week 32

We’d been invited to Birmingham Airport to take a look at their revamped Sky Zone area for kids.  We’d reviewed it when it initially opened in 2013.  We got to meet up with Harriet from Toby and Roo, and her two boys which was a nice surprise.  It was a bit of deja vu for Monkey and I as we enjoyed lunch at Giraffe, before heading to the Departure Lounge to see the updated SkyZone.  Monkey decided he wasn’t go to play ball with the official photographer, but enjoyed himself in his own way.

After the event we headed on up the motorway to spend the night with my best friend.

Thursday 11th August – Day 224

Project 366 2016 Week 32

A day of dinosaur tracking awaited at the National Forest Adventure Farm.  We’d been invited to review the farm and popped along with my best friend.  We had a brilliant day, Monkey is the king of the maize maze, collecting dinosaur bones in a 1 hour record time. We’ll definitely be going back again.

Friday 12th August – Day 225

Project 366 2016 Week 32

What a difference a day makes!  Coats yesterday, suncream today.  We decided to take a 6 mile round walk to Melbourne in the morning with a coffee and cake stop in the middle.   The views were wonderful along the way.  After a quick lunch back at my friends, it was time to head back down the motorway.

Saturday 13th August – Day 226

Project 366 2016 Week 32

We’ve had a busy week and I’d been writing until 1am so today was always going to be a quiet one at home.  My brother, SIL and nephew came round this morning after his IV antibiotics session.  He’s off his crutches but still in a boot.  We’ll find out on Tuesday whether he can move to tablets and therefore they can go on holiday.

After they left we have had a day of games and cuddles on the sofa. Another busy week ahead starts tomorrow with a trip to London.  How about you?

  1. It sounds like you had a fab day at Countryfile Live….The Olympics the day after sounds like a great way to relax a little.
What a busy week…You have been all over the place having lots of fun adventures x

  2. Sounds like it’s been a busy week. Lots of outdoor things – perfect for both of you. (I have been very confused seeing Melbourne written here and on your IG!)

  3. Love the pylon and field photo – very summery. Your garden olympics reminds me of when I was little and I’d set up a bamboo cane high jump on my front lawn!

  4. I love countryfile, see a few other bloggers were there as well, glad you both had a good day and well done on the signature.
    The dinosaur hunt sounds fun.
Ouch at the falling over, but glad he calmed down.

  5. You certainly pack a lot into your week, and it sounds like you have had some great days making memories. I have had too many late nights watching the sport, but just keep telling myself it only happens every 4 years. Hope you have a lovely week this week, with lots more sunshine.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
