Project 366 2016 Week 48 Day 332 – 338 From a castle to meeting Santa with Beavers, it’s one week nearer to Monkey turning 7!
Sunday 27th November – Day 332
We spent the day at Warwick Castle, the weather was kind and Monkey loved every moment. He was clearly deep in thought here. My niece was also there reviewing with her Mum, so we caught up with them throughout the day too.
Monday 28th November – Day 333
I’d not been feeling great all weekend and by this morning I felt awful. Managed to get Monkey to school and then went to bed until it was time to collect him. Got him to Beavers and back and then he had a little play time before bed.
Tuesday 29th November – Day 334
How cold!! Minus 7 on the school walk this morning, kill or cure for me. This leaf had settled from nowhere on our hedge, it certainly was a frosty one this morning. Luckily by bedtime I was feeling more with it and Monkey was very good at helping me after school.
Wednesday 30th November – Day 335
When we got home his emotions surfaced and we had lots of tears. We were getting changed and going straight out to our NCT Secret Santa meal, he didn’t want to go. Then he spotted the elf door. Mummy Berry must be coming back! Tears dried and a smile returned and off we went, Santa hats at hand, for dinner with the best of friends.
Lovely meal, lovely friends, great kids and for the first time in years Monkey happily had his photo taken with his oldest friends. That’s my Christmas made. We’ve not had a complete group photo for so long, as he’s refused to join in.
Thursday 1st December – Day 336
After sleeping in his own bed all night for two nights, Monkey ended up back in with me last night and then wouldn’t go back to sleep. It’s going to be a long day for both of us today.
But Berry the Elf had arrived so that bought a little excitement to the proceedings before school.
After school I’d promised him he could make his NCT Secret Santa gift, he was very impressed. We then headed into town via Daddy P’s work to watch the Christmas Lights being switched on. Mince pies had to be eaten of course.
Friday 2nd December – Day 337
Walked Monkey to school, he was happy as it was a dress down day in exchange for tombola prizes for the Christmas Fair. Headed off to college to compare enlargements and talk about mounting. We’re all showing some of our favourite shots next week. Got my mounts ordered after class and before I knew it was time to pick Monkey up from school. Three pages of Maths homework to complete by Thursday – joy.
I left him alone with his Dad for five minutes and look what they got up to!
Saturday 3rd December – Day 338
We had a Singalong Santa event with Beavers today, I went along as a helper as Monkey wasn’t happy to go with me leaving him there. Although he didn’t join in with every activity (blindfolds and dressing up are a no-no) he did have a wonderful time generally. He wasn’t always glued to my side which was nice to see.
This afternoon we’re getting crafty as we build a helicopter (hopefully). Think we’ll both sleep well tonight. Our last week of Monkey being 6 lies ahead, with lots of fun and games planned.
The multischool sports sounds a bit of a nightmare. Must be the season for it as N had a dance festival. He was most excited about their bus breaking down.
It sounds like a busy week for you all! How lovely to have Monkey finally join in with the group photo. My daughter’s school had dress down in return for tombola prizes on Friday too!
Hope you are feeling better now.
