Project 366 2020 Week 17 Day 110 – 116 Another week of lockdown and back to school at home for my son.
Sunday 19th April – Day 110
We watched Memphis Belle last night as part of our Saturday movie night and my son spent most of the day making a replica in Lego. It was lovely to see his imagination.
I managed to hurt my back whilst I was changing the beds and it put pay to the plans we had for the day.
Monday 20th April – Day 111
The first day back to school at home and we’ve decided to change our approach. What gets done gets done and what doesn’t just doesn’t get worried about any more. My son learns in different ways and I have to work too so we have to find something that works for both of us right now.
My back is still really hurting but we needed to go for a walk in the afternoon to drop some birthday things on my SIL’s doorstep. We got to say hello to a few friends as we continued on our walk, which was lovely.
Tuesday 21st April – Day 112
As part of my son’s school work today he needed to do some artwork inside the outline of his hand. I joined in too, and it’s hard to tell one hand from the other now. We’ve had hand paint prints up in the kitchen for years and this will now be added to the collection.
Two of our caterpillars are now hanging ready to turn into a chrysalis, and the other three shouldn’t be much longer.
A lovely sunny day to enjoy but my engineer decided to spend the afternoon laying Lego track from the living room through the hallway.
Wednesday 22nd April – Day 113
We got to watch all five of our caterpillars turning into chrysalis today.
Thursday 23rd April – Day 114
When I’d finished work for the day we got the ordnance survey map out and decided to explore a footpath not too far from our house as part of a circular walk. It was so lovely to walk away from our estate and feel as if we were on an adventure. It was the nicest hour we’ve had in ages.
Friday 24th April – Day 115
Hornby have run a competition to design a livery for a special train which they will then make for the winner. His theme was about bringing countries together again.
Saturday 25th April – Day 116
There’s a local walk I’ve been wanting to do for ages that took us over the M40, past a water tower and to a pond. We got to see a few bluebells, horses and just enjoy the countryside right on our doorstep. I was rather dismayed by the number of cars driving on the ring road – they really can’t all have been making essential shopping trips. The M40 whilst quiet was still busier than I’d expected. Disappointing.
But we did get to see a friend and her family walking their dog, lovely to see a familiar face, even from a distance.
What have you been doing to stay sane this week?
