Small Steps Amazing Achievements 7th August

I’m linking up with Small Steps Amazing Achievements 7th August this week, with a few steps of bravery from my son.  Yesterday we visited Bowood House and Gardens with his god mum and her daughter.  I’ll be doing a separate post on our full day, but we had a couple of moments of bravery from my little boy that warranted a separate mention.

My son is not a very adventurous little boy as regular readers will know.  There is a really wonderful adventure playground at Bowood, most of it is for older children than him, aged just over 3 and half years.  He normally lives on the swings, but yesterday he was a little braver, a little bolder and did a couple of amazing things.

Firstly, there is a wonderful wooden pirate ship for the children to explore.  His first small steps amazing achievements were to climb the ladder and walk along the side of the boat.  It’s a big boat, it took him quite a while to pluck up the courage to go up the ladder.

But he did it!  and promptly walked along the side of the boat, before deciding that that was enough bravery for the moment.  With encouragement he tackled coming down the ladder backwards – this is such a big thing for my little man.  I was so proud of him.

A little later in the day, he decided to try a slide, it was quite a big slide for him.

He didn’t make it down the slide itself, but to reach the top was still a big achievement for him.  Small Steps Amazing Achievements 7th August 🙂

Over 40 and a Mum to One

A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.

  1. It’s so great that he is getting his confidence. Believe me being fearful is a good thing I have heart attacks every time we take Ethan to a place like this!

Thanks for linking up with Small Steps Amazing Achievements :0)
