Breakfast with belVita

During the week it’s a mad rush to get Monkey out of the house in time for Nursery School. I’m sure I’m not alone with the ‘quickly, we’re going to be late for school’ daily routine! I’m normally pounced on by Brewster as soon as my alarm clock goes off in the morning, feed me Mum!  Then I get myself ready before Monkey emerges from his slumber.  One shortcut I won’t ever take is cutting out breakfast.  I’ve always had breakfast and it’s something Monkey enjoys too.  But I’ve been ringing the changes recently and I’ve tried something different, I’ve been having breakfast with belVita.

We’d been sent a selection of belVita products by Britmums to try out – yum!  I was quite interested to try something new as part of my morning regime, and breakfast with belVita sounded interesting.

I always try to get everything ready for breakfast before going to bed the previous night.  I make sure Monkey’s book bag is handy, and that any form I need to return to school are popped inside.  One less thing to think about in the morning.

So to breakfast with belVita! Breakfast for me is normally a bowl of my favourite cereal, toast and a cup of tea.  Would I find the belVita breakfast biscuits as filling?  They are rich in cereals, a source of fibre and made of wholegrain; so I felt I wasn’t missing out but not having my normal cereal. I liked the idea that belVita biscuits offer a slow release of carbohydrates over a 4 hour period which would keep me going until lunchtime.

We’d been sent the belVita Breakfast – Milk & Cereals, Fruit & Fibre and Yogurt Crunch biscuits to try out.  No surprise, but Monkey loved the Yogurt Crunch cocoa biscuits with a creamy live yogurt filling.  He’d scoffed his before I could even get the camera out!

My favourite of the selection has definitely been the Fruit & Fibre biscuits; which I’ve really enjoyed with some natural yogurt and fresh berries.  They were really tasty.  I’d thought before tasting that the Milk & Cereals biscuits would be my favourite, but I wasn’t that fussed to be honest.  They were drier than I’d expected, I really needed my cup of tea to go with them.

For me personally the Yogurt Crunch biscuits aren’t what I would want for breakfast.  I’m not keen on introducing anything with a cocoa/chocolate theme to breakfast time.  That aside, they are a nice biscuit and I’d certainly offer them to guests if they popped in for a cuppa and a chat anytime.

I think we might just have some belVita breakfast biscuits handy for early morning flights to Spain to visit my parents.  I can see them being very handy and much appreciated to give us a boost in the early hours!
