disclosure: we were sent this book for the purpose of review

Earlier last week we received a copy of Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures – The Beach.  The first book in a new series by Jessica Valentine and Suzy Jones Biggar.

This lovely 15-page paperback book introduces us to Bud the Beagle and his friend Roo.

The friend’s dig up a blue bucket and we follow them on their adventure as they find the bucket’s rightful home.  The text is simple, with short sentences, so great for children as they learn to read, but also ideal for younger children like my son (nearly 4 years) who enjoy being read to.

We read it together a couple of times and then I found him looking through the pictures in the book by himself later in the day.

I think a major appeal to this book is the illustrations – young children are instantly going to be drawn to these pictures.

Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures – The Beach is a lovely picture book and my son certainly enjoyed it.  Priced at £5.99 I think this is a great book.
