This post was meant to go live on Thursday, in time for #WorldBookDay. My post scheduling had a blip while we were in Spain! So, a little later than planned here is a wonderfully funny book we have been reading whilst on our holidays in Spain. I’d love to share with you Captain Beastlie’s Pirate Party written by Lucy Coats, which was published last month.
We count down the days to Captain Beastlie’s birthday, great for anyone learning the days of the week and numbers. He’s a rather messy pirate, can’t help but cover himself in food. He is not in the least bit dashing.
With pongy patches and rotten cabbages, Monkey has loved the descriptive language in this story, it really has become a firm favourite. It get’s a resounding thumbs up here on #WorldBookDay.
disclaimer: we were sent this book for the purpose of review, our comments remain our own honest opinions
Sounds like a great book. 6yo likes to dress as a pirate too funnily enough
Looks like a fun book!
This looks like a great book. Bud is very into pirates too so I’m sure it would be a hit here too..
We love pirates here, Miss M’s school had a pirate theme for World Book day and this looks like it would have been a great book to read on the day.
Pirate stories are always a big hit with Ethan too! This one sounds great, and definitely one I will keep an eye out for.
There are so many great books, and this one looks lovely with the detailed illustrations. perfect for your little pirate
