With the festive season getting ever closer, this week we are in the midst of school plays, parties and our NCT annual Secret Santa get together. We all like our festive treats in this household so I thought the Christmas Food & Crafts from Parragon Books could come in very handy.
This hardback book covers over 220 pages of festive treats – both for the Christmas table and craft shelves. Whether you are looking for a super easy Christmas Stocking or some decorations, the Christmas Food & Crafts from Parragon Books has a number of ideas for you to try.
We like our festive foods, and this book is ideal, from mince pies, baked figs, nut roast, to yule log, eggnog and Kir Royale, all bases are covered. I decided to try something different – Vanilla Fudge. It’s a firm family favourite and I knew we’d all love it.
I followed the recipe which was very clear, but no one told me that actually making fudge is quite difficult. Well that was until I couldn’t get mine to set! Then everyone told me so! I may not have produced solid fudge, the kind you’d buy in a shop, but boy it still tasted devine!
We’ve had our Vanilla Fudge with Chocolate Ice Cream and we all agreed, who needs it to set anyway!
Monkey has already put his order in for some Festive Mince Pies and Rudolph Cookies, but has made it clear that no baking is allowed to start until he finishes school on Friday, so he can help!
For another wonderful Christmas themed bake from this book, pop over to see Eileen at ET Speaks from Home who recently made the amazing Christmas Tree Wreath Cake.
The Christmas Food & Crafts book is priced at £15.00 and I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below for your reference.
