Cley Designs personalised jewellery – review and giveaway

I’ve always loved jewellery and wanted to have Monkey’s fingerprint used in a piece of jewellery from the moment he was born.  Sadly Daddy P took forever to get the hint and Monkey was 3 before I finally had a necklace which I could wear.  It was lovely to have and as Monkey’s grown he’s actually asked me if he could give me a new fingerprint charm.  Mummy my fingers have grown you know!  Bless him.  I recently discovered the range of Cley Designs  (now known as Guru Company) personalised jewellery.

Looking through the Cley Designs/Guru Company personalised jewellery ranges, I was quite taken with their Fingerprint Ring, as I’d never seen anything like it before.  But something else caught my eye and I knew I’d found the right piece for me.

The Fingerprint Teardrop Necklace was exactly what I wanted.  You can also have a heart shape or tag style pendant, but for me the teardrop was a little different and more meaningful.  I’d have something of Monkey to cherish and the teardrop would symbolise his brother or sister that never was.

We received a home fingerprinting kit from Cley Designs/Guru Company, mix the two coloured clays together into a ball and press the required finger into the middle.  Hold still for a couple of minutes to let the clay fingerprint imprint set.  Pop it in the addressed envelope, stamp it and return to Cley Designs/Guru Company.

Delivery of the Cley Designs/Guru Company personalised jewellery is really prompt and I’m so pleased with the finished piece.  It’s in sterling silver (you can pay extra for hallmarking if so desired). You can choose from 3 designs of chain (additional charges apply).  I opted for an 18″ sterling silver belcher chain.  The Teardrop design is available with Clean or Black Finish to the fingerprint, I opted for clean.

You could also have your child’s name engraved on the front of the piece, and a date as well, if required.

The quality of my necklace is wonderful and I’m so thrilled with it, as is Monkey.  He’s always commented about my original necklace, but can’t remember his involvement in making it.  This time around he’s been part of the decision-making as well as providing his nearly 7-year-old finger for the print.  I’ll treasure my new necklace always.

Priced at £69.00 it’s a really lovely piece of personalised jewellery, and if Daddy P wore cufflinks I’d be buying him the cufflinks version for Christmas.  Cley Designs/Guru Company have a really nice selection of designs and ideas, and their hand crafted sterling silver pieces would be perfect for presents at any time of year.

  1. I would like to get a keyring for my daughter. it would be great if a paw print of her dog could be reduced in size to fit on one.

  2. I really like the Sterling Silver Charm Snake Bracelet, shame they don’t do a fingerprint charm to fit but I think that you probably made the best choice.

  3. I’d choose a secret message ring…my memory is shocking – so it’s a great place to store a password 😉 Happy New Year! x

  4. I love that finger print necklace – so special! That’s definitely what I would order to keep a piece of my son close to my heart 🙂

  5. I would love love love the personalised hand and foot print necklace with my little boys prints on

  6. I think I would choose the Double Fingerprint Heart Necklace. It’s a lovely idea and I think the kids would love it as well. I would have to have two of them one for each of my precious children.

  7. there are so many lovely pieces! i think i like the two tone teardrop with name and date on or the bar with date on the most!

  8. I love the double fingerprint heart necklace, that way i could have both my childrens fingerprints x

  11. I would get the hand print ring, my son passed away in October at 41+3 days, and since halfway through my pregnancy I haven’t been able to get my wedding ring back on. So I would get this to replace my wedding ring.

  12. i’d most likely buy the Personalised Mini Heart Necklace , getting one each for my daughters

  13. I love this finger print necklace or maybe I’d put it towards a hand print ring and have all my daughters prints.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
