When we were away last week, I had little idea of what the weather would throw at us. One minute the sun was out, the next the clouds would come back. I needed something for Monkey to wear that would cover the changeable conditions and I opted for the Didriksons Bawal Jacket.
We’re big fans of the Swedish outdoors clothing company, but this jacket is a little different from the waterproof jackets we’ve tried over the last few years. It’s made of a powerstretch 95% polyester/5% elastine knit material with brushed fleece on the inside. It’s not waterproof, but does feature their THERMALsystem, providing insulation for my son whilst not letting him overheat. I can see him using the Didriksons Bawal Jacket a lot in the months ahead.
It comes with a removable hood, pockets and chin protector. There’s also a name tag and hanging loop.
Monkey’s favourite colour is red so we went for the Flag Red colour option, although the jacket is also available in Navy, Fuschia and Sharp Blue. For sizing we opted for 130 which is equivalent to age 7-8 years and is a good fit for my 7-year-old son.
My intrepid explorer needed a jacket that would work well for a dinosaur hunting adventure.

But it would also need to cope well with the dizzy heights of a Big Wheel trip and a beach combing expedition. How would it fair in the changeable conditions and what would my 7-year-old make of his new adventure gear?
