I seem to have spent at least the last six years often visiting a prehistoric world with my son. His love of all things from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods has known no bounds and even as an eight and half year old, there seems no change to that in sight. We’ve been having fun with some new toys here and had plenty of dinosaur roars with the range from Brainstorm Limited following the release of the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom film.
Brainstorm Limited are holding a Roar-some Twitter party tonight (14th June) between 7-8pm over on their Twitter account using the #Stikbots and #dinosaurs hashtags, make sure you pop along as there are some fab prizes to be won!
We’ve been lucky enough to look at a few of the products available in the range, offering fun and educational elements along the way. First up is the T Rex Projector and Room Guard, which is aimed at children aged 3 years and over. This item requires 3 x AA batteries to operate.
The T Rex stands at approx 28cms tall and over 40cms long, and he’s a bit of a beast.
Once you’ve fitted the batteries, you can enjoy dinosaur roars with the range from Brainstorm Limited, click the orange button under the T Rex tail and he will spring into life. He can be used as a projector or a room guard.
The T Rex Projector and Room Guard comes complete with 3 projection discs, with a total of 24 different dinosaur images to enjoy. There’s even a handy hidden storage facility for the discs on the T Rex too. You can focus the images by moves the right arm up and down, and you don’t even need a pitch dark room to be able to see the dinosaur show.
Once you’ve finished with the projector, change the mode switch on the T Rex and he becomes a room guard and the motion sensor on its chest will detect movement up to 1.5 metres away, making him roar.
Our cat Brewster, wasn’t used to being roared at when he came in for his dinner.
If you pick him up he will also roar and will only become quiet once put down again.
Each set comes with a T Rex Door sticker, sample pack of glow in the dark stars and a code to unlock dinosaur facts online.
The 2 in 1 T Rex Buzz Wire game is based on a classic family fun game, with a little roartastic twist.
Aimed at those aged 5 years and over, the game requires 2 x AA batteries to work, and comes with two interchangeable dinosaur themed shapes to navigate, offering two levels of difficulty.
The shapes simply click in and out of the base and are really easy to change over. The batteries fit in on the underside of the base unit and that’s where you find the on/off switch.
Decide on the level of difficulty you want, easier – T Rex head, more challenging – full T Rex, and guide the metal looped handle around the shape.
Beware though, if you don’t have a steady hand, and touch the wire shape you will be roared at in no uncertain terms!
We do love our glow in the dark stars, and now there’s a Glow Stars and Dinosaurs set too, for even more after dark fun.
The set comes with 35 plastic stars, 8 cardboard dinosaurs and self-adhesive pads to add that extra glow to any dino fans bedroom.
You might have spotted our recent review for the Stikbot Pirate Move Set, and as I’ve mentioned before, we are big fans of the range here. So I knew the Stikbot Mega Dino Brontosaurus was going to be well received by my eight year old.
This rather cute chap has suction cup feet and easy to pose for stop frame animation fun using the free Stikbot app.
Not only is this Stikbot Mega Dino Brontosaurus a fun, stand alone toy, but you can have lots of fun with the app, making him move. You basically use your phone to take lots of photos, moving the Stikbot very slowly in each shot, to make your animation. My son loves this app as it’s really easy to use. You might just spot his Stikbot Dino Egg Stegasaurus making a fleeting appearance.
We’ve been having lots of dinosaur roars with the range from Brainstorm Limited, and you can too if you head over to the Brainstorm Limited Twitter page tonight between 7-8pm. Hope to see you there!
I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate links below for your convenience, in case you fancy buying any of the items mentioned above.
disclosure: we were sent the items mentioned in exchange for an honest review

Over 40 and a Mum to One
A Mum with a 13 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure.
