Dora and the Lost City of Gold

Dora and the Lost City of Gold – AD sent for review and giveaway

Did you know that Dora and the Lost City of Gold is released through Paramount Home Entertainment on Blu-ray and DVD today? It is also available to download and keep too.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold

If like us, you’ve watched the Dora the Explorer TV series then you will be familiar with Dora, who is a rather intrepid adventurer.

Dora has grown up in the jungle, exploring the Peruvian jungle with her parents and now she’s about to embark on her own adventurer as she is about to start High School.  Whilst her parents remain in Peru, searching for the Inca city of Parapata, Dora is sent to Los Angeles to join her cousin Diego at his High School.  Dora makes new friends but her cousin Diego thinks Dora is somewhat less than cool to be around.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a really family-friendly action-adventure film where Dora and her friends end up being captured by mercenaries whilst on a field trip.  They are taken back to Peru and it soon becomes clear that Dora’s parents are missing and that the mercenaries want her to lead them to the riches held within Parapata.

Can Dora and her friends escape and find her parents? There are all sorts of fun adventures in Dora and the Lost City of Gold as the friends face numerous obstacles as well as twists and turns in the plot.  I don’t want to divulge any more of the story, but it’s kept us well entertained.

The Dora and the Lost City of Gold DVD includes the film in standard definition, whilst the digital down and Blu-ray combo includes various Bloopers, deleted and extended scenes and you can learn all about Dora herself.

The deleted scenes include:

  • A deleted scene of Dora’s parents – including Eva Longoria who plays her mum – sending her into the city to see more of the world. Dora is reluctant to go – she doesn’t want to leave the jungle! There’s also a hilarious moment where her Dad tries to explain to her what rave music is and proceeds to act out an entire song

FEATURETTE CLIP

  • Dora, Can You Say Pelicula? –  a great behind the scenes featurette clip based around the actor Eugenio Derbez who plays Alejandro. The rest of the cast discuss exactly what talent he brings to the film, and he talks about doing all his own stunts! Eugenio also talks about how much fun they all had together on set
  • Dora’s Jungle House – a featurette clip based on Dora’s adorable jungle home and the inspiration behind creating it. Actress Isabela Moner who plays Dora talks the audience through the set and explain why it is the perfect home for the film – from the fact that it is based off the Amazon river to all the different artefacts and books, it’s stocked full of. Perfect for an explorer-like Dora!

Feel free to download these Dora and the Lost City of Gold Activity sheets to keep the children entertained.
